I'm sure ole Blighty has it's own share of losers. As we have in the US, many of those on public assistance have made it their way of life. They feel a sense of entitlement with a poor work ethic.

I lived on less than $9000 a year while at university (wayyyy below the poverty line)  while raising an adolescent daughter as a single parent, and I never took a red cent in public welfare.  We ate just fine, but it helps to know how to cook healthy meals, i.e., something that isn't in a box.

Not the less fortunate, how about the ones who have figured out they're better off not working and just claiming a disability or any of the other many ways to collect welfare.
