A fatal car accident occurred on Highway 332, on 11 November 2025 at 14:20, near Kled Kaew Municipality, Sattahip, Chonburi Province. A white BMW 318i, registration from Bangkok, collided with a high-voltage utility pole, resulting in the death of the driver, Mr. Alangkan, 28, a sales staff member at HomePro Najomtien. Emergency responders from Sattahip Hospital, Kled Kaew and Khet Udomsak municipalities and Sawang Rojanatham rescue foundation were dispatched to the scene to assist.

Investigators found long skid marks on the road indicating heavy braking before the car driver, veered off the road and struck the pole. The vehicle was severely damaged, pinned against the pole, and Mr. Alangkan’s body had to be extricated using specialised rescue cutting equipment. He was found with fatal head injuries sustained from the impact. Witnesses reported that the car was travelling in the right lane at high speed before abruptly swerving left, after the driver lost control.

Mr. Phanupong, a colleague of the deceased, said Mr. Alangkan had been transporting equipment from Sattahip to deliver to a customer at Queen Sirikit Hospital. The car was reportedly heavily loaded with tools and equipment and some of its tyres were worn, which may have contributed to a blowout and the loss of control.

Police recorded the scene and interviewed witnesses to establish the circumstances. Preliminary assessments suggest excessive speed and possible tyre failure as key factors in the collision. Authorities continue to investigate to determine the cause of the crash.

Agree - but first buy a new set of tires   😎

Fair to say that's an understatement looking at the pictures of the way the car shell is bent. Tyres look like slicks too. No rain in the video but was the road wet at time of collision? So sad to see loss of life like this. Age and experience teach many of us to slow the <deleted> down (especially if in a heavily loaded vehicle). RIP.

Dying on the roads is so familiar here that Thais do not fear it.

If they were on a plane, they would buckle up, and hope that the pilot is experienced... Just the way it is. Perhaps the idea of drowning would make them react...

People want to die in a familiar way....

HomePro must pay well if their staff drive BMWs, especially at 28.

I've always said utility poles and trees must be avoided at all costs, the same applies to walls, buildings and parked vehicles.

Driving is a very dangerous affair, and one must be highly attentive at all times in order to survive in this world.

A lot of commission to be made pestering people to buy water heaters.

That was definitely some serious amount of speed involved, take out a double supported pole and the car ends up like a wet piece of cardboard!

Or slow down and stop driving like a moron. Too much for most i guess

BMW slammed into 2 poles around 6 am, I think 2 days ago over here in Pratumnak Kasetsin.  It's a pretty straight road, how you lose control is beyond me.

If you check out Facebook Marketplace you'll see many 10+ year old BMW's and other brands in the 100-200 thousand range...not unreachable.

True, but one can take steps to improve the chances of staying on this earth.  This young driver did not.  He was speeding in what apparently may have been a very heavily loaded car.  And those tires look really bad.  Here come the lawsuits

I don't think Thai people really understand what a safe speed is given road conditions. Instead of their pointless driving tests they should be trying to impress upon people what these things are actually capable of. Would this work? probably not, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Just because you drive a bmw you are not invincible speed bad tyres cutting corners play a factor no matter what you drive

The 332 is not a long road, only from Ban Chang to Sukhumvit just south of Bang Saray, but what an ass of a road!! It has U turns and joining lanes just marked out with plastic poles - people unfamiliar with the road cut across the lanes to avoid them, people joining them are merging into the fast lane at crawling speed, many accidents daily!

Only one damaged tyre, probably because it was the only one in contact with the road under braking as the car was mostly airborne before it hit the pole, the other 3 look perfect.

Actions have consequences.  We drive Highway 11 to get to Lamphun city and Chiang Mai.  I drive the speed limit at 90 kph, but often enough some luxury car with BKK plates will pass at such speed as to cause an air-wake as the idiot passes.  Eventually this kind of driving catches up with drivers who have powerful cars but who lack driving skills.  I have little sympathy for the driver.  If he kill innocent people tho', that is a problem.  In this case it looks like he earned his well deserved Darwin Award.  Congrats. 🥇 🥈 🏆

Wow ... wonder if speed was a contributing factor :cheesy:

Those tires weren't bald, they were racing slicks  :coffee1:
