As usual with gov.uk, not very clear and helpful.

Completed my cadaver bequethal form for University Medical School. If they don't get to me in time (or whatever), my local council can have my pleasure. More likely to die in Thailand. No choice for me here as my wife has taken out Life Insurance with ThaiLife.com

After he died his wife went to the bank and they told her it would be frozen if they record him as deceased. She had to empty the account via the ATM. That is my plan, my wife has a card/pin, and also my card/pin just in case things get squirrely.
November 29, 2025Nov 29 I had my cremation and everything related to it arranged and paid for at this institute 15 years ago. http://www.siamfuneral.com/about-us.html The embassy has also been informed! Everything has been arranged, from the cold storage to the cremation, including all accessories! The woman doesn't have to do anything, she is completely relieved!

I strongly recommend using a funeral director though, they will do all the running around, police forensics, embassy, to your local amphor and back to Bangkok to collect the body, charge includes basic coffin, they will deliver the body to the cremation place, but first the death cert has to be registered with the local amphoe/amphor where he lived, before the body can be released, then return get the body transported back. The directors recommended by the embassy are AsiaOne and Siam, Siam are the cheapest. I used Asiaone and all that cost 43k to Koh Chang, and don't forget if you do it yourself you will need hotel costs in Bangkok twice. Police charged 2500b for transport to police in bankok. So can you recommend a funeral director in the Pattaya area.

They are in Bangkok, as they need to be, becoz their first port of call would be your embassy. AsiaOne & Siam funeral Directors, Siam being the cheapest, both recommended to me by the OZ embassy.
