NON-IMMIGRANT VISA TYPE O Retirement (Single entry)

Featured Replies

Hi,

If I obtain this visa from my home country and want to extend for a year would I need funds in my Thai bank account 2 months before extending?

More knowledgeable people will be along sooner, but you get an O-A from your home country. You could get a 90 day non O at home, come to Thailand, open a bank account with that visa, transfer 800k into it and extend as a non O from within Thailand.

I have a Thai bank account and have had it for 30 years. My question is would the money need to be in the account 2 months before the extension ?

And the answer is yes.

For 12 month extension you require 800k in Thai bank seasoned for two months.

The Non O eVisa will provide 90 day stamp

asap transfer the 800k (I use WISE) then after two months obtain the extension..

Which immigration office.

Udon Thani

Do the Non O ( 90 day ) in home country not the O-A.  Yes 800k in your Thai savings account two months prior to 1 year extension. Transfer the money soon after arriving here.

Bring your Non O evisa - make copies to Immigration for your extension, they want to see it  every year....

No problem.

For your extension you should provide TM30 + the other required docs.

Which Bank is the account.

Bangkok Bank

The reason I asked is BBL have been doing weird thing with funds in the bank account.

Freezing the funds for a period necessary to sign agreement for them to provide Bank Letter.

Also as you are aware BBL take time to provide bank statement.

Being your first extension a three month bank statement would be sufficient.

Immigration may be fine with just your bank book photocopies showing funds seasoned for two months.

Have had a Non O for many years up until covid. Never had a problem with getting a statement from the Bangkok Bank that is opposite the entrance to the old Immigration site.

Good.

Just be aware of current nonsense with BBL as per threads.

Doesn't affect you as you need to maintain funds in bank after application anyway.

More of an issue for extension marriage.

Not aware of any agents in Udon Thani.

Clarify if you are providing funds yourself, meaning DIY or that you need agent to cover financials

I have funds and indicated by my original post by asking when they have to be in there for the year extension.

Someone mentioned an Agent and I am not aware of any agents in Udon Thani.

However out of interest would be interested in knowing if there were any agents and what they charge.

Or you can give evidence for a retirement income of at least 65,000 THB/ month which has to be certified by your embassy in Thailand. Or a mix of both…

Indeed, including, and relevant, the British.

Yes.

Full financial requirements for 1 year extension based on retirement.
Clause 4.

If you are thinking you need funds in your home country to apply for the visa before transferring to Thailand, that is not necessarily the case. You could have the funds in the Thai account before applying for the visa and use the Thai account to support your visa application.

I have obtained a new Non O visa several times and just used my Thai account.

Maybe the bank will suggest that you open a new passbook account, but my experience is long ago.

Note for OP - Udon Thani immigration moved to Nong Samrong in July, in case you didn't know.

P'Ott runs PDC visa beside her restaurant ,the Boxwood in Khon Kaen. She has opened a satellite office in Udon Thani to which she attends Fridays. A well connected agent assisting in visa apps and border runs through Non Khai. Been driven to the office once but can't figure out the exact location. A quick call to KK should give you the info you require.
