From Jordan.I guess his goat didn't let him have a quick one before he left his room.

I went to a Jordanian restaurant in Bangkok once. The food was good but those people were absolutely vile. Shady looking men in long beards shoveling rice and meat in their mouths with their bare grubby hands. They also had a habit of stroking their beards too as they were eating, probably to brush pieces of rice out of it. Nastiest eating experience I ever had in my life.

Seems like nobody ever does. Omar Youssef is an obvious Arabic name.

Well, Omar, don't kid Youssef, you're going to jail.

Agreed. But either way it's ludicrous to cough up the airfares to go shoplifting for cheap tat. Mental.

Why doesn’t the stores hire fine security like those  who beat up the guys who don’t pay their bar tabs?

Could it be a payroll issue? Both parties are trying to reduce their operating expenses

Quiet a few posters were looking forward to yet another Israeli bashing thread . Must be some disappointment  that he wasn't Israeli

Only speculation that they were Jordanian, which borders Israel.

I will wait for a confirmation before making comment but with the current situation in Thailand I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

The hotel worker reported that Youssef caused a disturbance after being denied a refund for a breakfast he wanted in the afternoon.

Sounds familiar.

A cultural thing in that region.

Gawd no... Please !!!...

.... We have one poster here who's very likely already wetting himself at that possibility and would then be all over this thread like sweat-stain...

Edit: Too late... seems Jordan is 'close enough' to Israel to make the leap...

Unlikely, the Jordanians dislike them.

There is no significant Jewish community in Jordan

, which is home to a very small number of Jews, such as Israeli embassy staff and some American aid workers who often conceal their religion. While a historical Jewish presence is noted, and Jordan has historical Jewish sites, modern Jewish communities are non-existent due to legal restrictions and societal tensions. Jews are prohibited by law from owning property or acquiring citizenship, and there have been incidents of discrimination and entry restrictions for visible Jews.

If they were in fact Jordanian, and it is only speculation at this time, then perhaps the sign makers will be busy making No Jordanian signs to put up in front of businesses, resorts and shops.

It was just  few days go that you were explaining the difference between Jews and Israelis and you were explaining that Israelis and Jews are different (from each other)

Could you now tell yourself that ?

Or shall I tell you what you told me  few days go ?

BTW, did you forget ?

Just now, MalcolmB said:

No, not at all.

But in this case the Jordanians seem to have a specific problem with Jews as opposed to all Israelis.

It is what it is.

You found some more comrades .

Will you be moving to Jordan to join them ?

I can’t say I have ever had a problem with Jordanians in real life.

Never seen any signs in Thailand singling them out, never heard of governments of all levels in Thailand warning them about their behaviors and embassies putting out specific warnings.
So i think it would be unjustified to take a handful of minor incidents and tar all Jordanians with the same brush.

As far as I know they are not banned from any other countries either.

Mal......................have you ever heard about any signs outside shops in Thailand banning anyone of any particular Country ?

No.

I like Thailand and would not ever consider living so close to the Occupied West Bank.

Judea can be quite nice , would be beautiful if there were no troublesome  Muslims there .
