I hope he does. It will help keep the Dems out of the WH for another 4 years. Same goes for Harris.

I certainly hope not. As a centrist dem I am hoping someone rational and smart like Beshears, Ro Khanna, Mark Kelly or Josh Shapiro. 

 

Newsom is phony and has not been good for California. Harris is a disaster. OAC is unelectable. Trump has made so many mistakes and his policies are so deeply unpopular and the opposite of the populist ones he promised. Not to mention deep hatred of the goon. So, there will be alot of momentum for a Centrist dem to take office.

Trump despises all veterans. It reminds him of what a coward and non-patriot he truly is. Kelly is a man of honor.

Why not change the system, make it about the person and not money, get somebody non-controversial with half a brain that can speak well like Jake Sullivan? Might’ve under Biden and possibly slightly left, but who cares as long as they’re normal and speak for all. Then again, what kind of normal person (read, non-narcissist) would want that role?

Well you certainly can't go any lower than where we've been for the last 10 months. But you are correct in that it's going to be difficult to find a message that actually gets through to the masses. Trump is a man of very modest intelligence but he's an absolute genius at the con, and he showed how good he was at telling people what they wanted to hear, despite the fact that he never had any intention of enacting any of those policies. Other than highly destructive tariffs and a huge overreach on the illegal immigration issue, turning his ICE agents into domestic terrorists.

You could say the same for the former President, who also used student and medical deferments to avoid Vietnam. As did many young men of their generation- Clinton, Cheney, etc.  Can't really blame them for not wanting to take part in that godforsaken conflict.

Well that may be true those other guys didn't have contempt for the military like Trump has. Anybody who questions whether or not that is true simply has to look toward the Hesgeth appointment, to determine that he has no respect whatsoever for our Armed Forces. Otherwise he would have appointed somebody who was even halfway competent. Hesgeth was a filthy appointment that was piled high with distrust and disgust for the forces.
