This is some next level trashy air quality that even a covid mask won't filter out.

Aren’t there any dive shops around there that would rent you some o2 dive tanks?

Why do people bitch and moan about the AIQ here in AN?
Is that supposed to make the air cleaner?
Your complaints aren't going to stop the burning.

Stop complaining and do something about it in your own personal space.
How about just going out and getting an air purifier or two for your house? You can get an effective one for less than 1,000 baht.  That was enough to bring my inside numbers into single digits even on the worst days without hermetically sealing the windows! An N95 mask works as well when we are outside.

What is the problem? It's the same people complaining about this year after year. You'd think they would learn by now!

I'm inclined to agree.  It happens every year, all over most of Thailand (and the rest of Asia) and yet still gets treated as important "news"!

You either learn to live with it, or move somewhere.  Thais don't have much choice.  But constantly complaining about it and doom-mongering doesn't help.

Shocked by this rather New Age response of denial and surrender and acceptance of another sh!t sandwich from the Elite Controllers.

No.

People ought to be outraged.

Righteous anger is a good thing.

The AQ is unacceptable and has been for, what, the past 10 years at least?

People need to keep raising the issue - bitching, moaning, posting, humiliating, whatever - till something is done to solve it.

I'm happy that you, too,  have found a way to deal with the AIQ that makes you comfortable.

Oops! Sorry! I didn't read carefully enough.

Exactly - if we didn't kick up a fuss, they wouldn't cloud seed / get those helicopters out to spray water to make it a bit more manageable. Shaming the government into doing something is the only way to get them to alleviate the problem when they should be reacting proactively.

I guess the folks giving my posts the 'thumbs down' emoji prefer to bitch and moan about the AIQ in an internet forum year after year, rather than learning how to live comfortably.

That's too bad. Sorry, guys, but there really IS another way to live.

Posting on here is hardly shaming the government.

If you want to have an effect, start a letter writing campaign to the Bangkok Post. Post relentlessly and let us know how it goes. Of course don't do it anonymously, be proud to stand up and be counted.

Well, I think you've been sold a fake Covid mask!

A good quality N95 mask will definitely filter out PM2.5 particles.....

Absolutely correct!

I’m so glad that the Thai government reads your comments here and fixes the problem for all of us. They pay special attention to complaints from expats.
We receive SOOO many requests for our advice from the government every day that I’m thankful you can now take over this responsibility of keeping them appraised of the problem… year after year after year after year after year after year…

poor air quality is news. Why should we pretend it is acceptable?

Complaining may not achieve much, but it is far more effective than denial.

Neither is as effective as an air purifier and an N95 mask.
No complaints or denial needed.
Far less angst.  Much more peaceful.

Not sure why you can't implement precautions while objecting to a poor state of affairs.

More lube is not an acceptable soultion for anal rape.

One can complain… or one can fix their problem and be done with it.
I choose the latter.
I want to live in Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai has a reoccurring problem with AIQ.

Two options:

1. Bitch a moan about it incessantly every year.
2. Fix the problem in your own surroundings, then relax and have no need to keep complaining.
It’s not Zen. It’s common sense.

I am considering purchasing a Dyson purifier. A bit expensive but I think it is worth it. Any thoughts?

It is large, very expensive, and not really worth it. There are other options out there that do the same for a lot less. But, of course, there are also more expensive options out there.

I would recommend you go see the real one at a Dyson shop (Central and The Mall usually have them), and read some reviews. Dyson is very good for some things, but nothing special for others. Air purifiers fall into the second group.
