No it does not.

Vast majority of immigration offices would NOT require medical certificate for extension.

They would of course require 12 month health insurance.

I agree it's a nonsense, but it's what they require and what I give them every year.

Over 'n Out.

Maneerat don't deal with Bangkok Bank anymore.

I just did my 90-day report using Maneerat.... they told me that when my retirement renewal comes up in March I have to go and open a new account at Krungthai branch in Naklua.

They said I have to go there myself and do it, which is a bit of a cheek considering that their service has gone up from 12,500 to 15,500 baht for renewal (like most agents.)

Just saying..... Maneerat aren't using Bangkok Bank anymore, they're using Krungthai.

Incidentally, went to Cambodia Travel - 14,900 baht for renewal, 1000 baht to open new account at Krungsi Bank in Pattaya Tai, and their agent is there to assist.

Best agents Cambodia Travel but very slow getting pp back nowadays?

True, but how is this relevant here?

What Bangkok bank branch in Pattaya is easy to get 3 month bank statement and certificate of total of money of 800000 baht for 1 year renewal? Thanks.

You will have to get a 12 month bank statement. anything shorter will not suffice.

He mentions that he plans on using Maneerat for "Convenience" and in my experience I've only ever needed a 3 month statement when I was dealing with them... but I did my last extension in July so things may well have changed since then.

I always go in a couple of days before and they've always given me the same piece of paper to take to the Branch...

[Apologies for the splodges, that's Passport, 2 Photos and Bank Book]

OP: Suggest you confirm with Maneerat what they need then pop to the Branch on Beach Road (Turn left at the top of Soi Post Office and it's a 5 minute walk), they know exactly what paperwork you'll need.

Good idea.

Don't wish to type things I'm not

fully aware of however recent report (current) that Maneerat wanted return client to open account at bank other than BBL.

Think he opted to go with Cambodia travel who also wanted account not with BBL.

I'm assuming/hoping that's for guys who are using "Agent Assisted Financing".

As mentioned I did my last extension in July at which time everything was up in the air with Bangkok Bank (People who didn't have the money in the Bank were going to Bangkok to do their extensions) and the only difference for me was when I got to the Branch there were no Maneerat Staff there guiding people through the process.

Oh & the Branch was a hella lot quieter...

same with Kasikorn,    in and out 15 mins

Someone in the thread asked about posting their experience of opening a bank account. We managed to open an account with Krungsri in Festival Central around 5 weeks ago. Initially we went there with Passport copies including our Non O visa stamp page up to November 2026,  C O R, and lease. We gave her everything and she went and copied stuff, she never said we don’t need this or that form. Not that that necessarily means she didn’t need it. She then said we have to send it to head office, come back in 4 weeks. Then she gave us a date for 3 weeks to return.

On our return 3 weeks later another clerk saw us and initially had trouble understanding that all our forms had been submitted. Eventually she grabbed a pile of at least 50 applications and found ours had been accepted. Took best part of an hour to do our paperwork and give us cards.

We opened an additional account partly because I like to have cash in a plan B account in case they freeze one.

Your post almost seems unbelievable.

Given what you provided the bank, the account should be opened immediately..

Something is wrong as flies in the face of opposite reports.

Why didn't you try another bank eg Kasikon?

3 weeks for approval. Ridiculous

But do Surin require medical certificates for retirement extensions based on original non-O visas, as well as for those based on original non-OA visas, as in your case? If they don't, this clearly begs the question to my mind as to why you haven't dumped your original non-OA visa by exiting the country without a re-entry permit and then re-entering with a visa exemption (currently 60 days) which you should then be able to convert to a new 90-day non-O visa at your local immigration office, before resuming annual retirement extensions. That's what many now former non-OA visa holders on here have done to avoid the ridiculous health insurance requirement (plus mandatory medical certificate in the case of a handful of rogue offices such as yours).

Taking passport copies was a waste of time, the bank isn't immigration

I only go to a bank branch to do things more complicated than deposit/withdrawals.  Lately, every time they make a copy of photo page and sometimes my extension stamp.

Exactly, the bank take copies

In answer to your 1st question: I have no idea. Not relevant for me. The annual trip to my doctor's clinic to get the new certificate is a 5-minute stop on the way to Immigration (yawn).

As to the rest [OA vs non-O], this is a matter that some people (Dr Jack every time) love to raise. The health insurance matter is not an issue for me. At age 76 & 99% healthy 100% of the time I still need health insurance for the time when, and getting it ab initio in advancing years becomes more & more difficult. So I see no reason to change there (though I'm interested in possibilities that produce actual cover rather than a long list of not-covereds).

Apart from that I don't see any advantage to changing over from OA-based stay. I can't be bothered with the administrative rigmarole involved in the change for no real gain to me.

Good luck.

I am using a term deposit 800K and I must get a 12 month statement .

All they have to do is look in the term deposit bank book and they can see that there isn't any movement  and when the term expires, but hey that's what they wanted for the  last 10 years

Which Immigration Office do you use and do you do it yourself or use an Agent?

I'm all for making my life easier and so use an Agent for convenience, the only time I've needed to get anything other than a 3 month statement was when I was using a normal Savings account and ended up with some consolidated entries so needed to get an additional statement to show the individual line items [This was in Bangkok, Agent picked up on it immediately and walked me to Bangkok Bank to get the statements I needed].

This is correct information. Went to Bbl on Pattaya north road, across Terminal 21. In and out in 20 minutes. I paid 200 baht for the 2 forms and updated bankbook. Then I went to Maneerat, they took copies of bankbook and 2 photos. I paid the fee and got the ticket I had to show to mr. Football at Jomtien immigration. He took a photo of me and of the ticket and said finished. I didn´t have to stay in the very long queue but I could walk straight to counter 7. It took 2 minutes. 2 days later could pick up passport with 1 year extension stamp at Maneerat.
