Available hotel, my old go to

Years ago I would   come for a few weeks during high Xmas season . I never liked booking and paying in advance because I aways wanted to see the actual room first, see if it's on quiet street, not near buzzing ringing elevator, etc.  In town holiday always had rooms that were OK and reasonably priced for a few weeks. I just stopped in and they had plenty of rooms. Not fancy, but one month rate around 22,000 baht. Quiet new air con units. Good location in center of pattaya for those that walk. Had weekly rates too.  Pleasant dipping pool on roof.  800 baht a night basic room. Bathroom ok. Two sitting chairs. Wifi and TV.  Not sure what tv packages if any.  Bed was soft.  I ended up getting a  condo deal, but though5i would mention this place. I never had any issues there.  Small deposit always refunded

There is a place called "Intown Holiday". Presumably that's it.

The Mike Hotel has had an extensive renovation and makeover. By all accounts the staff are the same super-friendly gang so worth checking out if one is reminiscing on previous good value, good times.

I don't like to sleep on old soft beds.

If this is an older hotel, how would I know if the beds are new or old?

I think I found a review for this hotel on YouTube.

Seems like a nice place.

I prefer older and well-established hotels, in fact.

They feel more comfy, and more homey to me...

Nice guess.

How did you manage to guess the hotel the OP was talking about, out of thousands of accommodation options all over Pattaya?

Guess? Not really. The OP mentioned it in the first post.

I just read it again. You are correct. Lack of capitals and inverted comas, and location (Soi) meant I missed it. Thanks.
