Terror At Bondi Beach As Gunmen Slaughter Festival Crowd

 

 

 

Australia was plunged into horror on Sunday night after a mass shooting at Bondi Beach left ten people dead, including children, when two gunmen opened fire during a Jewish holiday festival attended by families.

 

The attack erupted around 6.40pm along Campbell Parade, near the iconic Bondi Pavilion, as crowds packed the beachfront at the end of a sweltering 30C summer day. Witnesses described scenes of pure chaos as rifle shots rang out across the tourist strip, with some reporting more than 30 rounds fired.

 

Video and photographs captured by a Daily Mail photographer show one gunman firing from an elevated footbridge with a high-powered rifle, blasting repeatedly into crowds below. Witnesses said the attackers arrived by car, placed a black flag bearing an emblem on the windshield, then calmly walked onto the bridge before opening fire.

 

One gunman was shot dead at the scene. The second was wounded and is now in police custody.

The shooting unfolded as “Chanukah by the Sea”, advertised as a family-friendly celebration, was under way. Children were among those attending when the gunfire began.

 

 

NSW Ambulance confirmed 13 patients have so far been taken to hospitals across Sydney, with officials warning the casualty toll could rise. More than 40 emergency units, including intensive care teams and three helicopters, were deployed as police locked down the area.

 

Terrified beachgoers fled in all directions. Some hid behind concrete walls, while others ran into the ocean to escape the bullets. One witness said a man was found bleeding on the pavement far from the shooting site, suggesting bullets travelled a significant distance.

 

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the government was aware of an “active security situation” and urged the public to follow NSW Police instructions. Authorities stressed there was no related incident at Dover Heights, where another Chanukah event had been planned.

Police have urged the public not to share unconfirmed rumours as investigations continue.

It seems quite clear that they were targeted because of their religion, not their nationality. These victims (as far as we know) are not responsible for the deaths of Palistinians.

Always too quick to jump in. Who was the " nutter" who saved soo many lives!  Look at the vids. That Muslim guy without a doubt saved many many lives. The crappy Sydney police or whoever didn't shoot the older/ father of the family shooters shot for 90 more seconds! No, a murderous attack committed by two nutters. A religion doesn't commit anything, any more than catholicism was responsible for terrorist outrages.

The suspects were a father and son: Sajid Akram (50) and Naveed Akram (24), of Pakistani origin, from Sydney suburbs.

Names (Sajid/Naveed Akram) are traditionally Muslim/Pakistani.

A senior law enforcement source and reports (e.g., ABC News, Times of Israel) confirm Pakistani-Muslim background.

The hero who tackled one gunman (Ahmed al-Ahmed) was also Muslim.

Given that it was a weekend at a popular beach, I'd bet a lot of the victims were Muslim, too.  And Christian.  It may have been a Hanukkah event, but that doesn't exclude others from the beach.

 

Australia and most other western countries are to blame for this continued terrorism by letting any of this group in and allowed to stay.

For the past 12 months I haven't read a single act of terrorism by muslims in Japan.  Japan has my respect.

The stupid father and son who did this wouldn't have given thought to what you say, and they would have pre-determined the vast majority to be Jews.
