A street brawl involving foreign tourists erupted in central Pattaya, causing panic among visitors and residents and leaving several people injured, including a pregnant woman who was caught in the crossfire. Police intervened after bystanders attempted to break up the fight, which unfolded in full view of passers-by.

The incident was widely shared online after Facebook user Worachot Chaika posted a video in the GRAB PATTAYA group. The clip, lasting approximately 2 minutes and 2 seconds, showed a chaotic confrontation in the middle of the road that drew crowds and disrupted traffic in the area.

According to a report filed on 15 December 2025, the violence followed a verbal argument that escalated rapidly. The two sides were seen riding motorcycles while chasing each other before stopping and engaging in a physical fight.

The video showed five Middle Eastern nationals, comprising three men and two women, confronting two British nationals. One of the British men was wearing a red shirt, while the other, described as tall and well built, had removed his shirt before the fight broke out.

During the altercation, a pregnant Middle Eastern woman who attempted to intervene was struck and injured. A man from the same group was also beaten to the ground, while one of the British men fled the scene on a motorcycle, leaving his companion behind.

The fight occurred on South Pattaya Road, in front of the TukCom Pattaya building. The area is a busy commercial and tourist zone with constant pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the day.

A 27-year-old fruit vendor identified as Mr Tan, who witnessed the incident, said he heard shouting while selling his produce. He reported seeing two foreign men park their motorcycles near his stall before a group of Middle Eastern nationals approached them, leading to the fight seen in the video.

Police later confirmed that the altercation stemmed from a motorcycle sideswipe that triggered a heated argument. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station detained all those involved and charged them with jointly engaging in a public fight, issuing fines of 500 baht per person.

The pregnant woman received medical treatment and was later discharged from hospital, with doctors confirming she was safe. Police warned tourists and road users to remain calm and avoid confrontations, stressing that violence in tourist areas could undermine public safety.

Key Takeaways

• A motorcycle sideswipe triggered a public fight between British and Middle Eastern tourists in Pattaya.

• A pregnant bystander was injured but later discharged from hospital in a safe condition.

• Police fined all participants 500 baht each for fighting in a public place.

Have they moved the boxing ring?

500 baht slap on the wrist. Deport them. Thailand doesn't need these people. Funny to watch one of the Brits jump on his motorbike and flee the scene, leaving his mate behind.

Yes I find drunken foreigners, on holiday in Thailand, fighting in the street, amusing.

I also found your hostile comment amusing.

I am different, I am not frail or elderly, like dad's age. I find humor in most things. I'm a glass half full guy, not half empty, like some people here.

You must understand people are different, people have different attitudes.

Me and my positive, happy attitude will allow me to live a much longer, happier life than you.

BTW, I have 6 positive emojis against my comment above, looks like we have a many here who have the same beautiful, happy, attitude as mine.

Yeah, you're happy.

Anyone who gets a thrill watching other people beat each other up is more likely miserable.

It takes approximately 45 minutes to drive 5 kms from Suk to 2nd Road.  Mostly because the lights at 3rd Road are hopelessly out of synch with the volume of traffic entering Pattaya with those crossing it.  By the end of this ordeal I am ready to fight anybody.  A cop to deter those blocking traffic would be handy.

No, we just realize there are far too many idiots coming to Thailand.

On Tai? During Songkran or national holidays maybe.

There are faster alternative routes into the guts of Pattaya. My usual route from the south is via Soi Batman, Bong Kotch and Chalerm Prakiat 18. That brings me out on Third, just north of Soi Pothole. Quick zig-zag down Lengkee and Diana and I'm on Second. Alternatives exist to bypass Klang and Nua as well, and I'm not on a scooter either.

So you're happy to see brawls because it confirms your narrative?

That's what the bar scene does.

Pattaya has an identity crisis. They have Jazz Festivals and other events, but it's not enough to compete with the bar scene attraction. Maybe the bar scene should be watered down and put a much smaller bar scene in many cities, so the thugs don't all end up in Pattaya and Pattaya can thrive as a family resort.

Well the other party were from the Middle East, they seem to be attracted by motor bikes!

Happy to see them? Absolutely not! It should not be necessary, if normal people were among us. However, when it is like it is, then Yes! It amuses me to see them weed themselves out and make total arses out of themselves.

Kind of like you do here, with your comments and replies. It´s also very amusing.
