December 20, 2025Dec 20 I neglected doing "cardio" for years Going to the gym everyday to lift weights sometimes heavy sometimes light I thought I was fit until I decided to go to a aerobics class earlier this year ,it was a dance Zumba I lasted 10 minutes!! Puffing ,sweating , out of breath From then on I decided cardio is the answer to my "quality of life " at my age not weights (well not all the time now) I started to walk , upstairs as well , 21 floors in my condo building Most days more than 10,000 steps either partly on the treadmill or walking to work ,not all at once , I just carried the phone in my top pocket and went through your the day ,doing over 10k steps Instead of taking lift I would take the stairs ,instead of the bus I would walk Instead of lifting weights I would use the treadmill After 3 months I have become a little slimmer but I noticed im not out of breath anymore ,I can walk upstairs easier , I feel my balance is better I feel stronger in the legs My balance has improved , my walking has become faster and easier I'm now doing cardio X 4 a week versus weights 1 to 2 All I want to do at this stage of life is improve quality of life not become an athlete not even lose weight but to be able to get upstairs easier ,to be able to bend down ,to be able to walk uphills Walking ....now one thing I found difficult in Thailand was walking ,it's either the traffic or its stray dogs so you may have to use partly a treadmill

Very trendy, but I find it a little uncomfortable watching some of the guys walking/jogging topless. Gawd, those manboobs flap around, please guys wear a shirt.

Pratumnak soi 5, all the way to Na Jomtien Very safe.
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Popular Post I'm not a fan of men walking around Pattaya with no shirt, I'd deport those and deny entry to any who do it. Pratumnak park is a good place to walk, busy morning and afternoon with walkers. Cycling is also very good
December 20, 2025Dec 20 Author Running particularly with no shirt can cause colds as the sweat has no where to go,that's what an old boxer told me, He said you can get colds easier Possibly . I always wear a shirt because of sun and colds

December 20, 2025Dec 20 i find it overall better to exercise my arms through drinking beer in front of gogo girls, the exercise has to be enjoyable enough to keep going, and the impact on the spine at every step during running is downright bad for a body no longer young

I never felt better. But a friend needed knee surgery from the wear-and-tear and I got nervous about running on pavement and having the same thing happen. But you're right - it felt great when doing just normal, everyday stuff like stairs.

Stray dogs seem to have a sixth sense about people walking through their territory. They may attack or show aggression, but also seem to steer clear of 'nutters'. I never have a problem with stray dogs! One look from me at them when they show aggression and they back off 🙂

Strange you say that I started purposely taking the stairs when I was mopping the hospital floors instead of the lift Carrying the mop up the stairs my knees started to hurt But I kept it up every other day and now their not hurting ..maybe they got stronger I don't know

One look from me at them when they show aggression and they back off 🙂 This has been my experience as well. Sometimes I'll snarl or growl at the dog and this scares the girl I'm with as well; sometimes even more than the dogs. The pretend to pick up a rock trick is 99% effective though and is usually my sole tactic.

Take it from a very experienced walker, Always walk on the right side of the rode with the traffic coming towards you. Remember where there are dog problems and avoid them, Let's not forget, be extra careful if you need to walk on the dreaded Pattaya pavsers. Never trust anyone on the road, it's your life so YOU take care of it.

I once chased an alpha dog for at least 2 km, reducing it to a nervous wreck, since it couldn't shake off the human 'nutter'. Good exercise for me 🙂

But people do not gives a <deleted> anywhere, even put their feet’s up in the seats or chairs everywhere. Annoying especially at airports where their back pack in one seat, sit one, and their feet in another one. Is it so hard just to have some common sense? Even in a tank top with a fat hairy body, is disgusting. Cant you start a tread about common sense and behavior?
