Skin cancer full body checkup recommendations?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need a full body skin checkup with dermoscopy and ability to biopsy/excise if needed.

Any recommendations for specific dermatologist/hospital in Bangkok, please?

There is very little in a search in the forum. Thanks in advance

I did a check up in Bangkok hospital, 1200 baht or so for visual check, and got recommended to remove two moles for 22 000 + medication. I did it back home for free (tax money)

Thanks Sheryl. I'll go for Samitivej or BNH for a comprehensive check but I'm surprised there are no responses based on personal experiences of hospitals/docs/skin checks as I'm sure skin cancer must be a constant danger to expats in Thailand.

Seems like a bit of overkill to me. Any certified skin doc, can look at your skin, and simply use liquid nitrogen to remove any suspect abnormities. Why biopsy & excise, just zap them off with a dab of liquid nitrogen.

I used a doc at Udon Thani, and excellent, cost only 200-300 baht for exam and a few dabs of nitro. Sadly he retired, so can't help with recommendation.

I went to Bumrungrad @ BKK for screening (1000 baht), and would never recommend them to anyone.

Good Luck

I have to disagree with that. Not every skin doctor has knowledge of cancer as Thais do not suffer from it. Liquid Nitrogen is normally used for Keratosis or pre-cancer. If you have a basal carcinoma (real cancer) it can only be diagnosed by biopsy and has to be removed by surgery with second additional biopsy to see if all tissue has been caught.

I have experience and can recommend Bumrungrad, Dr. Nusra who is very good at this and Medpark Hospital, Dr. Suppakamol

I second the thought regarding Dr. Nusra.
