90 Day Reporting - Why need to Update TM30 when Agent already done it?

Featured Replies

As a DTV holder, I went to Jomtien Immigration to do my 90 day reporting, as it can't be done online for the 1st report back into the country. Thought I'd be in and out within 10 mins, but no. Handed all the documents at the 90 day desk, she said the Real Estate Agent's TM30 printout isn't sufficient, even though multiple people here said that it's acceptable when their Real Estate Agent did it for them and they presented it to BKK Immigration and Phuket Immigration. She told me I need to get a queue number and do an updated TM30, which makes absolutely no sense, but she said I need the TM30 little slip of paper they add to the pack of your passport.

I just decided , I won't bother with any of this then, as I don't need immigration for anything, and they will probably try and scam you with a 1,900 baht fine saying that you didn't do a TM30 update, even though the Agent did it when I moved into my rental room.

Have others here had the same issue with Jomtien? It's been known that Jomtien is a rogue immigration office for so many years already, but nobody brought it to my attention about this TM30 printout issue the last time I asked 3 months ago.

You are not dealing with Phuket but rather Jomtien.

In any event, with a DTV if you are not dealing with immigration by exiting Thailand every 180 days then in reality there little reason to do TM30 or TM47.

You had another thread on this.

Perhaps do the TM30 yourself if inclined.

Jomtien does not accept printed TM30. They require EVERYONE to go to the desk and get "their version" of the TM30, but you'll need the printed version to allow you to get that one.

If you have a valid TM30 notification done using the online system, all they will do at the TM30 desk is transferring the information to a traditional form and putting the stamped receipt part into your passport.

There's no fee or fine in that case, it's just what you could call a completely unnecessary paper shuffling exercise and waste of time.

Sounds like a classic Catch-22 situation to me!

How is that a catch 22?

You must have proof of your own TM30 in order to get their version. If you don't have proof of yours, you're not getting their version. There's no catch 22.
