February 13Feb 13 Popular Post Why worry about what other foreigners are doing? People don't just move to another country and change after 60. A person that's taken care of themself for decades will certainly keep it up. Assuming what or why other people do things that doesn't affect you is a waste of your time. It also has nothing to do with money or the lack of it. If you look where you're living in Australia, you'll see the majority of people there are overweight. This happens all over the world and is increasing in the Asian countries, where it wasn't that obvious until the last 2 decades, western food and drink the culprits. Let people enjoy their lives while they're here. No one really knows how long they'll live, and people who exercise and eat well die every day.

He said shocked The elderly I presume Australian owner shouted to me "get outta here mate !

The ones that haven't worked, or not much, receive benefits from survivor benefits and spouses, which is mostly women. Some receive benefits because they can't work, disability. Most of the foreigners that come here are on pensions or worked to receive their SS benefits.

Maybe they don't know how to train properly or are still eating way too much crap food. Also, need to worry about injuries after a certain age, the body can not train like in your 20s. Some guys pushing themselves too hard in the gym and hurting themselves.

February 13Feb 13 I started training two years ago, just passed 70. I am pretty consistent at it and I haven’t eaten a potato chip in two years. I gained 2% in muscle last year. The upper tier of what’s possible at my ageI still have a gut. Bruce Springsteen, about my age, after a lifetime of training and three hour shows, has a bit of a gut too.Older people look worse. Including you.

A balanced diet with carb is the best for everyone.Good luck with your boxing! You can exercise everyday, but thats low intensity training, more hard exercises needs to be less than before when younger, to take care of your nervous system!
February 13Feb 13 56 minutes ago, georgegeorgia said:That would be more cardio then than strengthI was at the gym 4 days a week and was exhausted. The recovery was brutal and I was heading for injury. And several guys in the gym had injuries. Working with heavy weights in your 60s is high risk for injury. I then did some research. There are different types of muscle fibers.Apparently, they both can trigger muscle growth. Maybe the low weight / high rep not as much? But fatigue is lower, recovery is better, and much lower risk of injury.

I agree that many are but NOT all. A "council tenant" is just the same as a tenant in a non council rented house.

After turning 70 changes in hormone levels became dominate. I bought a home gym and already have a treadmill. Gonna try to roll some of that back, but honestly, a lot of it is just age-related change. You don't stay young forever. With that said - it's bicep, tricep, and abs day.

The great thing I like about having my own gym, I don't have to wait on anyone else. My resistance training is about moving from an exercise for a muscle group, and then moving to another exercise for an opposing muscle group. Max time training is between 10 to 12 minutes max. I'm constantly moving. What's the price of a annual fitness center / gym nowadays? The home gym cost me around 14K THB. I'll make up the price in a year and get more exercise because I don't have to travel to get to the gym, plus saving the cost of petrol.
