Good Thai Primary School In Sukkhumvit Area ?

Next year my son will start attending a Thai primary school.

Does anyone have any recommendations/experiences to share about Thai primary schools in the Sukhumvit area (or very near Skytrain). Public school or private school if not too expensive. (Can't afford international school, and wouldn't want that anyway as he won't learn the Thai curriculum).

What's the procedure to register a Thai child in school ? Does it matter that he is registered as living at mother's house in Buriram (but both mother and child live in Bangkok).
