Who Is/was Your Favorite Troll?

Featured Replies

Who is your favorite troll and what was your favorite troll thread ever?

I remember a guy last year. I can't find his posts but his name was something like Lawrence Fishbone or something??

He claimed to be an African-American and his avatar was an African guy wearing one of those bluetooth ear phones.

He had some really funny threads, harmless stuff. I remember he posted his drawings (obvious those of a 3 year old) and wanted people to critic them. I wonder what happened to him?

So any trolls you guys remember/liked particularly?

garro, you thinking of Jeffrey stanthorpe. I remember this guy:

WeHo was good, Donz was less good.

The (original) Gentleman that was always going off on missions with the SAS.

That's him!!

The Donz wasn't trolling though, that was his real life! :o

colypat was a trroll?! :o

:D

The guy 'Thunderstruck by Beauty' http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=171808

The 'Happiness Guru' http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=162785

My favourite is WeekendWarrior (just read his personal info,if this guy is not a troll he's f***ing scary and so are his posts.

Some guy posting about his pregnant girlfriend can't recall the name.

Just recent ones that come to mind.

Maybe the mods have favourites?

The hands-down absolute Master was colpyat... unmatched in total posts and longevity amongst trolls.

How about the ditz who insists on pretending that every poll on Western food in Chiang Mai has a space for "Khao soi".

At least colpyat didn't just make thing up. :o

I never thought of Colpyat as a troll, can you explain why?

I always thought he was very clued up about politics and history especially military stuff, perhaps he just wasn't who he claimed to be..

I know some just wanted to argue with him for the sake of it, some people just don't like the truth I thought, but was he really trolling? :o

Neither did i

Same here :o

I still think Scampys double invention of Wes Turner, the jet ski champion from Samui, and Uma~~, an exotic model from the middle east, were the cleverest and funniest trolls.

He managed to have these imagined characters meet up on a drunken date in Samui with a real, well known, poster supposedly with them on the night and supporting the story.

They had a falling out when Uma started ringing Wes at home late at night and got him in trouble with his wife. :D

Uma~~ created quite a bit of interest in the Ladies forum with "her" thread about genital piercings. :o

(rumour has it that Jeffery Stanthorpe was the Moog.)

Where is it I want to read it,sounds hilarious.

The two characters clocked up a lot of posts over a fair period of time. It was a sustained troll. You would need to read all of both characters posts to put the full story together.

Look them up in "members"

Here's the piercing thread:

Thanks, looks like a saga will have fun reading when I have time.

No farting whilst half submerged mind you. :o

Ooooooooooooooooh Old Croc you make me shiver with your attention to detail.

Here's the piercing thread:

Aaaaw, did you notice Daleyboy at the end of that thread. He was a good lad.

While highly opinionated, Colpyat had insights into security and local politics like few others. If that is the definition of a troll, then he was a troll. I have a different definition though.

Just thinking Old Croc.....

Someone with a business mind and a gift of the gab could edit all these funny threads, some troll threads some not and combine them into a great Thai Visa epitome of 'Great Moments of TV' or something like 'TV-the Years Recapped'.Funny pics, trolls, weird threads, good threads, oneliners, comebacks, etc.

That would be great stuff to read as you guys have been around for ages you could all get together and brain storm it as you remember all the good stuff.Let's see Old Croc,Mr BJ,Kayo,Chumwah (spell) Jai Dee,Crowboy, all the greats of Bedlam could contribute to this and don't get offended if I left you out I'm a new intern.

Old Bernard Trink did something like it.You could all come up with an edited weird thread and post it.... after all Newbies want information from you old members.TV is an institution in its own right.Wonder why nobody came up with this before.Or if they did well I don't know.

Agreed. He still reads here now and then, but doesn't seem interested in posting any more.

I have another great (funny) book in me from my work days that I will also probably never write.

Your thoughts may have merit, but should be looked at by some of the real old timers and characters. I'm just a newbie compared to some. :o

You should do it.It would be a great read.Start blogging or posting some excerpts.

That's why he's known as The Master.

Look at how many people he convinced that he was authentic. People actually believed all his various scenarios and experiences and believed him when he said he did this with so and so and did that with someone else. That he had unmatched contacts and background and expertise in whatever topic was being discussed.

He even famously pointed out that, on the Internet, people can be whoever they want to be and do whatever they want to do. Anyone ever meet him?

Whether it was smoking opium with Burmese drug barons in the border jungles or being involved with bringing peace to Aceh in Indonesia, whether he was a close confidant of leading academicians or an enemy of state with undercover Thai police trailing him, from volunteer ambulance medic to anti-junta demonstrator, the man had seen it all and done it twice. He had more personalities and personal histories than 10 of the next best trolls put together. All of them nicely woven to form the perfect anecdote... with only the occasional slip-up and the rare inconsistency to give him away.

Since his blatant return last week to Thaivisa and subsequent re-banning three times in three days, the desperate nature of his attempts has really become obvious.

btw, I'd be the first to admit that I was initally "taken in" by him when within his first 2 weeks here I posted...

I just want to express my admiration of, and support for ColPyat's posts on this thread. Here is someone who knows what he is writing about, and has the personal experience to back it up. I was esp. interested in your accounts of gov't. pressure on you and your family to go along with TRT's schemes to get everyone into debt, and your resistance to this. Good for you! Any more details you would care to provide would be of great interest to Thai residents like me, who don't have this personal experience, but can read about what is going on and hope Toxin will soon be gone.

I, too, wish to echo thailien's comments on ColPyat's posts. Top notch. Insightful and well-written.

:o

And just to expound on the issue of these throwaway government loans. It was reported last night on Nation's television news that 43,000 farmers had defaulted on their loans and were unable to pay!

It was only to until months and hundreds of revealing posts later and discussions with other senior posters did it slowly become evident what his true nature was...

Bedlemen I think we have a winner :o

Another dubious honour bestowed on me, thankyou thankyou... :o
