Sad Feeling For Tv

Just another observation re General vs Bedders...

I can think of several, one especially, high post-count BMs who are conspicuous by their absence in Bedlam. They seem to prefer hanging out in General where they can dazzle the Newbies with their long-winded posts which, when one actually reads them carefully, go all round the houses and say absolutely zilch. It's not that I always disagree with them; in fact, I usually see where they're coming from. It's just the way that they give this impression of "Ok, ok, I'm here now. What's all this about?" And then down comes the word from Olympus. I don't think they really like Bedders; we wouldn't show them the right amount of respect, probably tell them to get their head out of their arse or something.

Or maybe they are just wound so tight that they have forgotten how to relax.

Or just maybe, they have a very limited scope when it comes to topics of conversation, anything that falls outside their area, they are completely unable to contribute.

Then of course, there is always that other remote possibility, which can be easily overlooked - they're not interested in Bedlam. (Okay, okay - call off the dogs. I agree. How could anyone be not interested in Bedlam? :o )

So what was this thread about again?

Commie Chinese murdering bar stewards? Mods? Sepos? or some other insignificant problem? :o:D

I think the current theme is 'bag the aussies' :o

:D

Yep, I think so, Moss, I think so. :D

I'm sorry if this makes me anti-American and anti-British, but I do disagree with the war in Iraq, and I do feel that it has made the world a less safe place and it has certainly made Iraq a less safe place. I don't believe invading another country because you don't approve of their policies is the way to go -especially when you only apply it to small countries with lots of oil.

No problem with being anti Iraq war there is little doubt it was not thought through and entered into without an exit strategy. Opinions are a luxury we all can afford but the problem is when these opinions are arrived at without at least attempting to get the facts straight or engaging in a bit of original thought.

But getting away from the Iraq situation, been done to tedium already, there are other subjects that bring out the crackpots. Libya115 posted a piece a while back about a Thai man getting shot in Soi Khaw Noi, Pattaya. This got my interest as I lived in that road for seven years and there was a chance, remote I admit, that I knew the man. The first reply was (quoting from memory)

"Another fart from Thailand's bunghole that is Pattaya"

and the second one I can't recall but it basically backed up the sentiment of the first.

No problems with people's opinions but the topic deserved a bit of respect not the bog standard Pattaya basher's bile it got. What is it with these people? If they really hate Pattaya as much as they say why do they visit the Pattaya fora?

Are you telling me that those sheep stalkers who pushed Steinlager onto an unsuspecting world are actually getting involved in decent (well by Antipodean standards) beer.

Back to my Marston's Pedigree. (Or Green Saigon these days).

Saigon Green is a nice easy going session beer just right for those hot humid evenings after a tough day out on the park.

But watch out for Saigon Export, that's a completely different animal and one to be treated with respect. Ba Ba Ba (333) is another liquid hangover brew IMO best avoided.

Oh well from a sad thread we've come round to beer "liquid happiness".

Never ceases to amaze me, even a thread entitled " My Granny's undervest " would eventually end up a beer fest in Bedders.

Ah, but I wonder if it would work the other way around? :o

Ba ba ba - seems a suitable beer for the Kiwis to take to their hearts.

Indeed Humpf, with Velcro round the edge of the bottle !!!

I am serious this time. What's this thread about? I have no memory of it being about anything ever!

It can't be about anything..........Can it ?

Phew! I thought I was losing it! :o

I don't reckon that this thread is really here; it's a collective hallucination, a sort of group dream. It's the tree that fell and no-one heard.

Good analogy there Mickey! It's like one hand clapping! :o

Ahhh but I heard the tree and saw the butterfly that pushed it over..............( yes I've been drinking )

Halleluyah!

Where is my butterfly net?

I wanna net a butterfly.

Halleluyah!

I wish I had been... :o I've never been so dehydrated, cough, cough.
