Our baby daughter, now 6 months old, is named Aymeega, nickname Amy (or Aymee). This was the TW's choice.

I'm thinking Amoreena for the next one.

Congrats to all the new and soon-to-be mums and dads.

Add my congratulations to the list of well wishers for this clutch of babies

Just accept the fact that as a farung man you will be the one paying. You could hold out for her to marry a farung in which case maybe you could win.

One other thought is that in about 20 years Kayo will be looking for some girl to settle down with.

Maybe he will. But without his gonads, he won't be able to get upto much :D

My British friend and his Thai wife called their last one Vanessa, which is also pretty.

And, by the way, Boo my sirname is Jackson!!!

since you've started working in that <deleted> sheikdom ;how abt calling the little angel ""zaza"'' , am sure she will be a sizzling beauty :o

Btw; you will be named by your "child"'s name when you have a baby in that region of the world. so your name will be :

Mr. Father of Zaza! :D

And all that for noffing

Just look at her widdle face and choose her name - it will come naturally....

I'd go for webecca myself

hey congrats to all the fathers/mothers to be

MrBoJ -- from the ones mentioned...I quite like Anya, Annabelle (both not too difficult to say by thais...Anya is fine, Annabelle will be shorted to Anna)

another good one is Sonia, Sonya, Sonja, Soniya...however you want to spell it....it reads well in Thai, English AND Arabic. (although Zaza...I dont think the lil BoJ will be travelling to the middle east with Daddy )

quicksilva - congrats to you

soundman - and to you

and to Kurgen.

gee you guys could start a football team soon!

If I ever have a baby girl...Im calling her Soniya/Sonia/Sonja/Sonya. your lil girl can share the name :o

it means beautiful...atleast in one language I know.....

only need to settle on the spelling!! although..Sonja looks most exotic...I might need to find some east european guy to marry though....or perhaps a russian?

That's a bit drastic, marrying a Russian to name your baby girl Sonja! Just marry whomsoever you wish and call you girl Sonja...

If you remember Miggy, I thought you were Russian when you forst emerged on tv!

perceptions can be deceptive :D

but hey...if I meet someone like that Abramovich guy....an available version...then why not...although we would have to do something about his bad taste in football club.....:o

Waynetta

I'd have thought you would have Sheila :o

Have you seen him since ?

Luckily not :D

Maybe I will 'have' sheila when we settle on a fair price :D

Nothin' like a good sheila. :D

Was that other thread on names in Bedlam, Cuban ?

No it wasn't in here. I'm fairly certain it was in Family & Children or in Issan. (might have been Thai Language forum.)

I did search for it but didn't find the correct thread.

The post focused on names (boys I think) that worked in both English and Thai, but if memory serves like many a thread it strayed on to girls names as well.

One thought that does filter through my mid-afternoon doze filled brain is the name 'Phi' - in Thai this is used for older sister - if the first daughter a good start. In Greek the letter Phi is used to denote the Golden Ratio in mathematics. It would also allow her to use the Greek letter as a cool signature.

Hope all goes well.

Nothin' like a good sheila. wink.gif

unless you can get the real thing, eh Dr Pong........baaaaaaaa :o

As she has an Irish uncle you could call her Denise !!!

( If it was a boy Denephew )

*groan* get your coat suiging :o

I know a Rebecca, she changed her name (just by use) to one that means "Goddess of Fire" in the Middle Eastern country of her mother's birth. Pretty cool choice.

I've always liked Abigail and its contraction, Abby. By a strange coincidence, it's also my daughter's name. It means "Father's Delight".

Spot-on. :o

Another name I like is Anokhi which, I believe, is Persian for "Unique". There won't be many of them around.

Abigail: from, 'ab', (awb;) a prim. word; father in a lit, and immed., or fig, and remote application):--chief, (fore-) father ([-less]), X patrimony, principal. Comp. names in "Abi-" And 'giyl', (gheel;) a revolution (of time, i.e. an age); also joy:-- X exceedingly, gladness, X greatly, joy, rejoice (-ing), sort.

Strongs Hebrew concordance.

Congrats on your mini-mes. :D

Riza, Risa are all short and work ok. Obviously they will suffer from the eternal L/R confusion though, but Liza, Lisa are also good names. :o

Ellen, Erin, Elin are nice and easy to pronounce too.

Strongs Hebrew concordance just doesn't work for me. Way too long. with Hebrew and concord bound to cause the little girl grief even if she doesn't have a big nose. :o

>I've always liked Abigail and its contraction, Abby.

Without which we would never have enjoyed Abigail's Party.

can I get you a little drink Tone?
