Renew Road Tax At Post Office

Featured Replies

Was going to go to Nonthaburi Road tax/Driving licence place (Test Center) today to renew my road tax. Whilst in the Post Office, main branch, my wife noticed that you could renew it there..provided that the car is less than seven years old they said.

It took about ten minutes and cost an extra 38 baht for EMS return and 6 baht for envelopes. Hopefully documents will come back in about 14 days. They give you receipt/paperwork incase you are pulled up by police etc whilst showing 'out of date tax'. Beats the long queue at the Test Center.

Thought some may be interested.

You can also renew your CTPL (Cumpulsory) insurance through Thaivisa Insurance

Here are the rates

Motor Bike: >75CC <125CC 324 baht

: >125CC <150CC 431 baht

: >150CC 646 baht

Car (Includes 4 door pickups registered as Saloons): 646 baht

Van: 1,183 baht

Pickup (2 Door): 968 baht

To get yours now, please

go here

Lots of 'One Stop' tax stalls/shops about, there is one I use in Bang Yai Market, never seen a queue and go go to the Market about once a week

Can we do this in Pattaya at the Post Office ?

Not on about the compulsory thing but the approx Bt7k annual windscreen thing like the UK road fund

I don't know about Pattaya, but you can do it, in Banglamung post office Naklua.

Regards.
