From 1982.  Another favorite from Third World.  Volume, volume and more volume . . .

Carlos on While My Guitar Gently Weeps.  He can certainly make that guitar weep.

Great cover by Green Day from 2007.

Listening to Aventura a lot these days, these guys are the greatest Bachata band ever.

John Fahey - Buck Dancer's Choice [1958]

Enjoyed that, DB.  And a tribute to John Fahey by one of the best 12 string guitarists, Leo Kottke in 2017.

May as well take the opportunity to post one of my favorite Leo Kottke tunes from 1974.  Love the lyrics, too.

Derrick Morgan - Moon Hop [1969]

Good one.  A bit of ska/rocksteady.  Here's the volley.

I'll throw this one from 1968 in as well.

Edit:  One more good one in this genre.

Edit: Edit:  Can't leave this one out.

If you’re into anything with a guitar in it ( like me ) then this might interest you.

Basically a music documentary featuring Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge kicking around some ideas, some stories and jamming on an empty stage.

It might get loud !!

There's one genre peculiar to Louisiana that I don't recall seeing posted yet.  Zydeco/Creole/Cajun/Swamp blues.  Well, maybe I did awhile back.  Anyway, here's a sampling of music you're sure to hear when down in those parts of the U.S., especially if you're down around Mardi Gras.

The Neville Brothers put out some great music, this one from 1989.

This one is off the same Yellow Moon LP.

Fire On The Bayou by the Meters from 1975.  Been done up by a lot of artists.

CCR's John Fogerty doing up the classic Jambalaya (On The Bayou)

Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie Le Cowboy Creole.

Some Cajun roots going waaaayyy back.

Clifton CHenier with some swamp blues.

The Balfa Brothers playing some Cajun music.

Just for shiits and giggles here's an authentic Cajun/English accent for those unfamiliar.  Very unique and very unlike the usual U.S. southern accent.

Thanks, Andrew.  Coincidentally I saw it just recently.  They had fun, I'm sure.  And yes, guitar is probably my favorite instrument.  So versatile and so many variations of the concept.

Have you ever witnessed a legendary artist at work but not realised it ??
Happened to me:

There I was in 1994 working in São José dos Campos when my Brazilian girlfriend said that we were going to São Paulo to a concert !!
Well, not really able to speak any Portuguese I felt like I could take it or leave it but went anyway.

The band ? Legião Urbana ?? never heard of them !!

Anyway the place was packed to the rafters and the crowd were well excited.
The music was okay, kinda pop rock but I felt it was the message that the band were sending was more important !!

Anyway, this music started and the place erupted !!

Legião Urbana - Quando o sol bater na janela de teu quarto
( when the sun hits the window of your room )

The lead singer ( Renato Russo ) was a legendary singer songwriter who I was witnessing. It was only when he died ( from AIDS ) a couple of years later I realised how much he was idolised.
Recognised as a genius he was heavily influenced by the Smiths, Morrissey in particular.

As they said, they couldn't even hear themselves play.

George Harrison made an interesting point, he said The Beatles survived the fame because all four of them went through it together, unlike Elvis who experienced it all alone.
