British public wrong about nearly everything

When I used the word pathetic, it was directed at Exsexyman who has a habit of making obtuse and stupid personal attacks.

You have got some front blether i will give you that. Obtuse and stupid? You are responsible for one of the nastiest and spiteful personal attacks i have ever seen on TVF. Thankfully the Mods in their wisdom saw fit to remove it in double quick time. You know what i am on about. Don't be such a hypocrite. You are not as smart as you think you are. BTW are you still counting your 'Likes"? Very very sad.

A simple law, in fact a simple sentencing amendment would eradicate the majority of benefit fraud. People only do it because the price of being caught is not high enough.

People only do it because they think they're not going to get caught. Your reluctance to "grass them up" (your words) demonstrates why.

I think there is a natural reluctance for most people to be prepared to snitch/grass some one up, it seems a bit cowardly way of doing things, couple this with the knowledge that if you did and the fraudsters where to either find out, or if they just simple suspected it was you, the thought of what they could do to you or your family/property would be of sufficient deterrent.

I'm guessing that theblether lives and works in what is called a very rough area, the same as I used to live in, where you soon learn to keep your head down, the same as many of us Farangs here in Thailand try to do,as we simple don't want trouble. In contrast Perhaps to some of the people criticising theblether who may live in a perfect world.

I think the simple fact that certain posters use words like 'snitch' and 'grass' to describe reporting a crime says all we need to know about their attitude.

If they knew the whereabouts of someone like Michael Cope would they refuse to tell the police because they didn't want to be a grass?

I really hope not.

Many people, including some posters here I suspect, think benefit fraud and tax evasion are victimless crimes. The attitude being that no one is hurt, it's only the government's money the fraudsters are stealing.

The government doesn't have any money!

It's the honest tax payer's, yours and my, money these criminals are stealing!

If you know or suspect a crime is being committed, get off your arse and do something about it; you don't have to give your name.

If you don't, then you are as much a part of the problem as the thieves themselves, and no better than them.
