RIP Sir David Frost

Featured Replies

I liked the David Frost show when I was kid. He was quite more serious in the UK I believe?

The 2 Ronnies as they became known, got their big break on the satirical Frost Report

The end of a nasty man - at least in his early days.

Both he and I worked out of the same building in Greek Street, Soho.

He was writing a column for the Daily Mail from the upper floors, I was running a strip club in the basement. The thing that annoyed him, and pleased me, was that we looked very similar. I was often mistaken for him when I came up from the basement (he had a photo at the head of his column) and people would stare at me chatting to the girls as they went to work.

Our nice David Frost wrote a few times of the despicable strip club in the basement of 'his' building. He trotted along the street in the evenings to The Establishment, where he enjoyed himself and I supplied the topless girls who brought the press around and the wannabee celebrities who wanted to be photographed at teh 'in' place. Me? I went to the Crazy Elephant in St James and enjoyed the music. Great place, sadly missed. Also went to Ronan O'Rahilly's 'The Scene' which also had great music. They brought The Animals down from places North, and let them sleep on the stage after hours. As the place was known as Mac's Rehearsal Rooms during the day, the sleeping hours were not long.
