Lite Beer Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Men arrested for drug deals in SouthThe Sunday NationNAKHON SI THAMMARAT: -- Two men, reportedly part of a drug ring, allegedly led by Lt-Colonel Yi Se, were arrested along with 6,000 'yaba' pills and a pistol in Ron Pibun district in Nakhon Si Thammarat during a sting operation, an informed source reported yesterday.The pre-dawn arrest of Nuwat Chaiyos, 41, and Jeerasak Polpichai, 36, led to a subsequent search at a Pibun district house that yielded another batch of 6,000 'yaba' pills. Police also later arrested an "accomplice" Thiti Thinnakorn, 55, along with a third batch of 6,000 pills.Nakhon Si Thammarat police investigator Pol Colonel Chaowasilpa Boonpradit said the pills were worth Bt1 million in street value, and allegedly manufactured from Lt-Colonel Yi Se's new factory, carried a new logo (digit 1 and 2), and had a glow-in-the-dark ingredient to enhance the drug effect.Meanwhile, police yesterday revealed the arrest of food vendor Wutthipong Hongsamreung and accomplices Sompak Kaewsrimon and Walailak Maksi, along with 210,000 'yaba' pills and two kilograms of "ice". After the arrest of Sompak on Tuesdsay along with 424 pills in Surat Thani, police detained Walailak and Wutthipong. They allegedly found the drugs at Wutthipong's Pathum Thani home. Wutthipong reportedly confessed to transporting the drugs for Bt100,000 for a drug ring run by a Bang Kwang Prison inmate. -- The Nation 2014-01-12
noitom Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 The names of the two "men" arrested appear to be Thai. yet the newspaper refers to them as "men." In the case of foreign men being arrested, the Thai press refers to them as "foreigners."
