Not sure what will be the numbers for today but heard more other provinces are joining the protest as well.

The protest is not only about the Southern and Bangkokians anymore. It is now about the whole nation. There are even north people walking in the protest.

Btw anyone got any link showing red protest rally? They mentioned nationwide right? I love to see their crowd.

Suthep is a joke. Next week he will be spouting off about another (failed) ultimatum. He has already said around new years time, "this is it, if we can'r make her step down now, it's over" (paraphrased).

I'm sure he would turn himself in as soon as Thaksin comes back to serve his jail time. Rule of law and no double standards!

The two big questions: 1. Will the protesters succeed in shutting down Bangkok? and 2. Will we be able to notice the difference?

I still think the solution should be a UFC cage match between Suthep and Chalerm. Winner take all.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Bangbros wrestling match live on TV.

They love football more. So it would be better of they battle in football because players can be substituted every minute and many of them can play

You could ask one of the protesters for a shopping tour. You could be looking like Liberace in under an hour...

I'll escort you, never fear, I am a one man army, strolling down the street, head held high, kicking butt now and taking names later, I am the One, I will gather you to my bosom and protect you from all evil...25 baht per hour.

So now what? people can just come and block and cordon off areas of a major city at a

whim? just like that? no rule of law, no police? what da hell this country becoming too?

way past anarchy, and this is all in the name of democracy,,, Shame, Shame, Shame,

I believe the airport was quite a bit worse. What did you expect?

Seize that airports is OK.

It only affect Farangs who can choice another destination anyway.

It has no impact to Thai people by large.

Have yo never been to an airport if Thailand

Farlang are only a small percentage

Let the passive aggressive festivities begin. Those with enough sense to stay above the fray, remain safe and good luck. Those idiots in the midst of the fray, no sympathy. Act like passive aggressive fools, don't complain when you get treated like a passive aggressive fool looking for a fight.

'Passive aggressive' is far preferable to red shirt aggressive. At least they aren't firing bullets, burning down buildings and trying to pick fights with people whgo don't share the same ideology.

March on brave protestors and best of luck, I hope you will succeed in your aims to topple the corrupt Shin regime of criminals very soon..

Just a thought but is this Suthep's last roll of the dice ?

If today fizzles out what's left for him other than amazingly BS excuses in an attempt to avoid losing too much face.

Luckily Thai politicians have thick skin of rhino proportions so he may not actually have to break stride..

Judging by the crowds I have seen both on tv and in person I would say it is far from 'fizzling out'....

Uh...no. This is exactly what happens in demonstrations the world over, you create a nuisance to get noticed then negotiate your terms when the police come and ask you to move. At least here they give a weeks notice before they do it so you can make alternate plans easily. Now quit whining.

Brilliant mind at work.

I was on one of the last flights to leave Swampy To Udon Thani around 5pm the day the idiots occupied the roads to Swampy and therefore nor crews nor passengers could reach the airport.

Thus your brilliant mind suggest that plane had nearly zero Thai people on board????

How stupid can You be "Spare me a thought"????

I would rush to buy a front row ticket for that spectacle. Of course if Chalerm loses he would blame the ear medicine tongue.png

Bulletin update :

Chalerm : " The only concern is the intervention of a third party to create violence," he said. "

Was he looking in the mirror when he say that by any chance ?

The EC continues to paint the bleakest possible picture of the February 2 election.

Don't think Pheu Thai is listening anymore though. They think it's going to be a stunning success. ( Parliamentary math is such a bore anyway. )

A cheery note : The red shirts have a home for Yingluck after all this is over.

In Udon Thani.

I see CAPO is planning in joining in the shutdown by preventing people and vehicles entering the area.

The Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) announced yesterday that the authorities would ban people from entering seven locations - Sala Daeng, Pathumwan, Ratchaprasong, Asoke, Victory Monument, Lat Phrao and the middle of Rajdamnoen. Vehicles would be prohibited from entering those locations, it said.

Hopefully keep the reds out and prevent anymore shootings.

surely they can sit down together and resolve whatever seems to be the problem in a civilized manner? why the need for all of this disruption? if i understand correctly there are concerns about corruption and governance which both sides wish to improve so there should be no real barrier to meaningful intercourse to reach an agreement?

Flame removed

In using Thai Visa I agree:

1) To respect fellow members.

And that includes name calling !

Educated people would say so.

Removing the statue of limitation seems not much to ask and would help combat corruption. YL of course has not responded to this as her brother (the puppet master) still has more then a few corruption cases waiting for him. If this law change comes to pass his chances of ever coming back are gone. So instead of thinking about the country she is thinking about her brother. Its a common trait in the PTP

it sounds like a little diplomacy would go a long way. i call on all opposing parties to meet together and discuss their differences and resolve this matter without any further disruption to the lives of others.

I am flying in to Bangkok next Sunday & then flying up to Chiang Mai the next day. I am staying at the Airy Resort, nearby should things be okay there?

Day one and it's all good fun for all involved, lets see what the people of Bangkok think of the great leader if this goes beyond 3 or 4 days.
