Red shirts to "hunt down" six members of the NACC



BANGKOK: -- Nonthaburi-based red-shirt followers have threatened to “hunt down” six members of the National Anti-Corruption Commission claiming that they are “fake”.

Mr Sornrak Malaithong, spokesman of the People’s Radio for Democracy community radio network in Nonthaburi province, today (Thursday) charged that the appointments of the six commissioners were not Royally endorsed and, therefore, they were regarded as “fake” commissioners.

He said that, as of April 1, the red shirts would launch a manhunt against them and would catch them on sight and then hand them over to the police.

Sornrak also announced that the red-shirt followers would today bring in concrete barriers to be put at the rear gates of the NACC’s office which will completely seal off the office that no one would enter the premise without prior authorization from them.

On Wednesday, the red shirts forcibly dismantled an army’s bunker set up to provide protection to the NACC. Army troops who were posted at the bunker did not put up any resistance. An army truck later arrived at the scene to pick up all the equipments back to their barrack.

However, a mobile army unit has been deployed around the NACC office in place of the bunker.

lets hope the armed forces see sense in this and issue wanted posters on Mr Sornrak Malaithong, D or A preferably. It is one thing to protest but another when you start calling for people to be hunted down purely because they did not rule in your favour, once again red shirt democracy in action and their appologists try to say they are ok, what a joke. Will we see the police or the ptp come out and denounce these actions/threats, of course not as they have probably ordered them.

1. Somehow I doubt that the NACC leaders would allow themselves to be caught in a situation whereby 6 of their commissioners don't have the required endorsements etc.

2. Given the events of the last few months I suspect that the NACC will be ready to move it's operations to another location with little disruption.

3. I suspect this sort of threat will just make the NACC even more determined to get on with their work.

Sounds remarkably like the rhetoric Kuhn Suthep used a short while ago in reference to Yingluck and her son and all of their family... good for the goose... good for the...gander...? Hunt them down... drive them out of Thailand... those wascally wabbit's!

This type of behaviour should be immediately condemned by the senior members of the PTP and these red shirts expelled from the organization , there is a big difference in this form of government to a democratic one, you have just had the PTP foreign Minister complaining to Mr Moon at the UN over the constitution courts ruling , now here is a good example of why protesters are on the streets, these thuggery threats are a blight on Thailand and the sooner these type of people are eradicated, Thailand's international reputation may remain intact for a little longer.

Fab 4 says that UDD red shirt gang along with Jutaporn are nothing to do with PTP or Yingluck, he said they are separate from the government. So that means the defence minister has no responsibility for their actions...

Isn't it ironic they are attached when they want back up--helping the government one minute, then when they go into crazy mode they are separate.

I suspect we are going to get a lot of this sort of two wrongs make a right approach to things.

Was it not just recently that another group was going to hunt down and harass politicians.

I have softened my views that how you deal with one situation will be setting standards for similar future situations and perhaps every case will be treated independently but my own suspicion is that this is an indication of not learning rather than a conscious pro-active approach.

In reality though one political group will learn from and take advantage from what another group got away with and perhaps take it one step slightly further in a 'same same but slightly worse' scenario.
