Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 kitkat update

Featured Replies

Kitkat 4.4.2 is now available on Sammobile for note 10.1 Thailand. Not sure for OTA as i had already updated using leaked version and neede to use odin to update to Thai version. It is like having a new phone, much better.

Thanks I am now dowloading the OTA update.

I must admit I knew it was comming but did not expect it this quick after the beta release in Germany.

Good job Sammy

Thanks for the heads up. Finished installing 4.4.2 KitKat on the wife's Samsung Note 10.1 about 15 minutes ago. Did the OTA install....the update was 800.78MB in size.

I ran Antutu benchmark before during the update while still on 4.1.2...got a result of 14,747; when running Antutu on 4.4.2, I got a result of 14,252.

This is the wife's 10.1 Note...I now hand it back to her...I will only get to use it again when it needs updating.

Yes, no mention of SM-P601, only SM-605 on that site. When I go to OTA update on my device, it says I already have latest o/s (Jellybean!).

Definitely there when you search in firmwares. Quite a few countries have it. Cheers

And just to clarify since there are couple 10.1 models, the wife's is the GT-N8000 standard resolution model...around two years old.

OK, the SM-P601 is listed under firmwares but for other countries. If I select Thailand model it takes me to jellybean version as on link below!

Am I missing something? You said that "Kitkat 4.4.2 is now available on Sammobile for note 10.1 Thailand" but when I checked that site it still has Jellybean for Thailand under the firmware Thailand link??

It is I in firmwares, just check firmwares but not by country. Well worth upgrading.

Samsung is slow as my nexus 10 has 4.4.3 for sometime already...maybe just a google thing.

I think I understand the confusion now. Your subject title is correct. I was checking for the more recent Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition which until now is still on Jellybean. Strange they have upgraded the older model first and there is no update for latest model?? Since THAILAND is not listed I assume with a non rooted unit I am stuck with Jellybean?

Well, I wouldn't say KitKat is significantly better than JellyBean...it's just an incremental upgrade. I've long tamed my uncontrollable desire to upgrade to the latest version of whatever...it's mostly marketing hype anyway. Now my Samsung S4 and Samsung Note 10.1 are both now running KitKat...since I consider myself a typical user I haven't noticed any improvements from JB to KK....yes, I know there were improvements no doubt, it's just I haven't noticed them. But I can say I noticed when my S4 upgraded to KK the battery life went down noticeably...but about a week later ago there was another OTA update to my S4 KitKat that apparently resolved that problem...battery usage is now back to pre-KK levels.

Just for the record, this model Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition now has Kitkat for Thailand official releases. Upgrades OTA.
