British government offers to send technicians to help check VDO footage

BANGKOK: -- British Ambassador to Thailand Mark Kent told Police Commissioner General Pol Gen Somyos Pumphanmuang that the British government is willing to dispatch video experts to help scan security camera footage on Koh Tao.

The video rechecking was offered as a measure to try to locate killers of two British tourists on the island on September 15, Somyos said.

They rejected help from the FBI, they will reject help from the British.

They think they know everything and it proves they know nothing.

Of course you don't need any help....with outside help than it would be harder to cover up.

Was there ever any mention Cambodian's could be the suspects or was it just Myanmar and westerners they concentrated on.

I cannot see Hannah sharing a cigarette with a Myanmar.

Dear England

Our police force is trained to the highest standard. We have world renowned training and a spotless record of investigations into the murder of tourists. While we appreciate the offer for your Scotland Yard trained personnel who likely come with Ph.D.'s in forensic image analysis, we have located a new police cadet that used to run the movie projector at his high school movie club that will be perfectly capable of continuing our excellence in solving the deaths of foreigners. Should we decide that at some point we will require your services, we will ensure that every piece of DNA evidence is contaminated, all fingerprints smudged and all video erased from the tapes. Then we will kindly ask you to come over (at your expense of course, DNA tests are costing us 5000 baht each, you would think someone could find us a deal due to the volume of business we are bringing them). Upon our request for your attendance, we will make sure to ask you to book your rooms early, as the lack of tourists coming will obviously affect hotel and transportation costs, as in true fashion when times are tough we triple the price of all accommodations, meals and transportation for foreigners.

Sincerely yours

Chief Clancyporn Wiggumsak

Thais need no help ?

This country is so full of BS and sick.

Corrupt on every single square meter

They rejected help from the FBI, they will reject help from the British.

They think they know everything and it proves they know nothing.

I'm so sorry for you parents of the murdered kids.

Absolutely, but

not only that, if independent agencies were involved they would have problems

with their standard procedure (inventing scapegoats)

We don't need their help but if it makes the families feel better then thats good.

Of course you don't need any help....with outside help than it would be harder to cover up.

So you assume there is a cover up?

How do you know where you there?

Maybe you did it a thai person had no reason to do this.

A Thai person has no reason to commit any crime...but they do everyday....just like people in all other countries.

The locals will probably try to charge the technicians an entrance fee to the island.

They will find a way to politely refuse as it's pretty evident that things are far from what they appear to be in this case.

There's more than likely REAL criminologists and experts from the UK already monitoring the whole situation from the get go.

The FCO has remained silent for a reason, that smell wafting through their aircon systems is the smell of RTP bullshyt emanating all the way from Koh Tao.

Leave her (him?) alone. She has no idea that she's brainwashed/clueless/arrogant/racist/bigoted & nothing more than a third-world country girl. Trying to explain it to her will only give her a headache.

Finally some move in the right direction. Also the British government should extended their offer and send technicians to deal with a photograph from CCTV footage provided by Warot's lawyer and the footage itself. Thais would happily accept offer with both hands. wink.png

Can't they just send all the video files to various experts that are willing to get involved? seems easier and gets more eyes on the evidence.

In other words, let a competent forensic police team do it.

We don't need their help but if it makes the families feel better then thats good.

What do you mean you don't need their help, you need every bit of help you can get! You've been running round in circles achieving nothing so far.

Britain Offers Technical Help For Koh Tao Murder Inquiry
By Khaosod English

BANGKOK – The British ambassador to Thailand has offered technical assistance to help Thai police speed up their investigation into the murder of two British backpackers in southern Thailand.

Mark Kent, the United Kingdom's Ambassador in Bangkok, said during a meeting with Thai police chief Somyot Pumphanmuang today that British authorities are willing to provide equipment, experts, and other forms of assistance to Thai officials involved in the murder investigation.

It has been more than two weeks since British tourists David Miller, 24, and Hannah Witheridge, 23, were found bludgeoned to death on the popular island of Koh Tao. Thai police have yet to arrest any suspects in connection with the murder.

Pol.Gen. Somyot told the British ambassador that Thai police are working at their fullest capacity to solve the case, and stressed that the investigation takes time. Police have collected DNA samples from hundreds of individuals on the island, which will hopefully help identity the killer, Pol.Gen. Somyot said.
