NACC to organize Int’l Anti-Corruption Day

BANGKOK, 16 November 2014 (NNT) - The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) will celebrate the International Anti-Corruption Day on 18 November 2014 which coincides with its 15th anniversary. A seminar on corruption in bureaucracy is highlight of the event.

NACC Chairman Panthep Klanarongran said corruption in Thailand was critical and caused damages to the country in terms of economy, society and morality. He added that corruption tarnished Thailand’s image and urged all sectors to work together in tackling the problem more seriously. As the country’s main agency responsible for anti-corruption, the NACC had laid out strategies with the goal to eradicate corruption from Thailand, the chairman said.

The International Anti-Corruption Day this year will feature talks on corruption and how to suppress and prevent it, presentation of awards for individuals and organizations with outstanding anti-corruption efforts and the seminar on corruption in the Thai bureaucracy. The seminar has the objective to brainstorm the problem which is endemic in the system.

Maybe this ? http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/776890-nacc-agrees-to-allow-3-out-of-38-former-senators-facing-impeachment-to-continue-nlanrc-roles/

Maybe the NACC should look inside instead of outside when searching for corruption.

Wonder how much the organizer of the seminar paid to host the event??coffee1.gif

Do the honorable members of NACC have to declare their assets??

Wonder why not??whistling.gif

................unless someone pays them to hold it on a different day.....................

"The International Anti-Corruption Day this year will feature talks on corruption and how to suppress and prevent it..."

After which, they will go back to their regular routine of collecting tea money and promoting that there is no crime or vice in Thailand.

The next seminar will address the bad weather and how to suppress and prevent it rolleyes.gif

This must be the day when they all get together and compare scams for the past year!!

A seminar on corruption in bureaucracy is highlight of the event.

Quite logical since they have great knowledge about the subject

Will there be different entrance fees for Thais and foreigners?

Well according to some people the proposed PTP Amnesty Bill would have given amnesty to 25,000 cases so presumably the NACC have put at least that many people behind bars - or was that just propaganda for the great unwashed.................................coffee1.gif

Remove slander and libel laws. Then you would see some change. But, T.I.T.

Just more ' look we're really doing something ' nonsense.

I'm Afraid it is a bit late for that, something like talk about callin the pot black, don't you call us we will call you, also comes to mind.bah.gif

Just more ' look we're really doing something ' nonsense.

But R they cheesy.gif

Wouldn't it be remarkable to view what the NACC and other agencies have accomplished (not proposed/talked about/ suggested/ will look into etc.) over the last FIFTEEN years to lessen corruption? An detailed explanation about how it has increased would also be welcomed.

they should organize 365 anti-corruption days....

Exactly and some of the obvious steps are too difficult for them to think about far less implement.

How about prosecutions no matter who you are, serious jail time where appropriate, no backdoor escapes such as inactive posts / transfers for government officers and so on.

Where there's a will there's a way but the will isn't there and never will be so just talk the talk and forgetting the walk part.

Are they showcasing it?

I expect A list celebrities with Yakusa, Mafia and triads along with a large delegation from the major Chinese cities and provinces.

Will they have a red carpet?

A detailed investigation into the origins of the vast family wealth of most of the cabinet ministers, many of whom are career military men, would be a good start.

And yes ginjag, that investgation shpould include the previous Cabinet ministers as well.

C'mon Bluespunk, stick to the rules. How much are you willing to pay for the answer and how fast do you need it?

Sure, foreigners will pay to learn the dirty tricks while Thais already are in the know ;)

NACC Chairman Panthep Klanarongran said corruption in Thailand was critical and caused damages to the country ..... How true. You have caused much damages to the country by being power corrupted.
