PATTAYA:--Two families, one Thai and one foreign, were rescued from a sinking speed boat off the coast of Pattaya on Friday Afternoon.

No injuries were reported and the 10 members of both families, who were on their way to Larn Island, were rescued and taken back to Pattaya unharmed.

The boat in question was the “Chockcharee” and was being driven by Khun Worawong aged 22 at the time of the incident, which occurred 1 nautical mile from the coast of Pattaya.

Other boats were on-scene within minutes to rescue those onboard and the damaged boat, was taken back to the Bali Hai Port where it was seized by Harbor Officials, who identified a hull breach.

Glad they are ok, but a bit of glue and scotch tape and the boat will prob be back on the water again

Isn't that the third sinking or on fire boat to Koh Larn in a month?

It should be safe to go now, no chance of it happening again rolleyes.gifwhistling.gif

im sure the families costs were reimbursed too

Nah, they (the families) were billed for the rescue.

...hope they don't try to pin anything on the paying customers....

The foreign Family is gonna be charged something, no doubt about that ... Glad nobody was killed this time but there is always tomorrow ...

What an utterly ridiculous comment. Typical TV sadly, but it doesn't reflect well on you.

I hope you follow up and tell us how much the foreign passengers had to pay for the boat sinking, we can't wait to hear.

Harbor Officials identified a hull breach.

Sounds like the driver hit something in the water like a log..

Unless there was an equipment or abnormal structure failure, the renters will likely be responsible for the repair. I hope they took out insurance.
