Thailand opens coordination center to boost transport of goods through Singkhon Pass

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, 13 September 2015 (NNT) - Prachuap Khiri Khan province has opened the Thai-Myanmar Public-Private Coordination Center to help facilitate trade, investment and tourism between the two countries.

Provincial Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Weera Sriwattanatrakul said the center had been set up due to revised customs clearance and border crossing regulations of the Singkhon Pass in Mueang district. The center provided information on trade, investment and tourism and facilitated Thai and Myanmar entrepreneurs, said the governor. He also expressed his belief that the center would help increase Thailand’s border trade value.

The Singkhon pass and the coordination center were aimed at motivating Thai and Myanmar entrepreneurs to transport goods through the Singkhon pass in order to help stimulate border economies, the governor said.

Located at the Singkhon Pass, the Thai-Myanmar Public-Private Coordination Center will be officially opened on 14 September 2015. The opening ceremony of a one stop service center—an integration of work of relevant units at the border zone—has been scheduled for the same day.
