CHIANG MAI — Call it a bold technological advancement or a new, effective way to punish your dog.

A video clip posted Saturday shows a demonstration of a homemade dog-washing machine in Chiang Mai, with a white poodle-cum-guinea pig strapped inside the contraption to get a full body wash from more than a dozen automatic brushes.

The Rube Goldberg-esque apparatus appears to make extensive use of household pvc pipes and broom heads.

The innovation has received both positive and negative feedback.

Is there any emotional counselling available for the dog after the trauma?

Just turn it up vertical and perfect for human washing as well. Beats my walk through the car wash machine once a month!

??

Why would you want a dog wash machine ?

Wash and rinse is the easy part... Drying, brushing and the other grooming bits, trim hair, get knots out brushing, cutting nails takes the time, done 3 so far today, another 5 to go over the weekend.

Thats cruel I don't think this invention has a hope in hell

What happened to loving hands washing your pet

On second thought it must be a hold over from the Vietnam War

This is what they called WATER TORTURE

I'd love to see this guy present it to a Dragon's Den or Shark Tank panel of potential investors to hear their comments. If I were the "inventor", I wouldn't put another baht into any further development.

Also, I seem to recall a vet telling me ages ago that part washing and grooming a dog is to feel for any lumps, cuts, welts, and other skin situations that may indicate problems.

I thought the dog would freak out but he took it quite well.

If they use this throughout Thailand they will run out of water very fast !!!

Not all dogs will handle this well , nope , this product will not be put on the market.

What about counselling for the inventor?

Why take this serious? It's obviously just a bit of engineering fun.

Sure, since he was in bondage.

Isn't it great to start the day with a good laugh? This is a real AT (Amazing Thailand) moment to share with the boys at the coffee shop.

But he probably already has a tumble dryer for the rest

I guess I prefer my mommy giving me a bath as I feel loved. Plus tug a wet with towel after that it's heaven
