I would be really suspicious. The only ones I've ever seen retail has been at TukCom in Pattaya and were a total fraud.

Lazada has gotten really big now with hundreds of associated vendors and probably can not keep up with the quick buck artists. AliExpress is known for the huge number of ads for fraudulent goods and they now own Lazada.

I didn't even realise they were doing them that big, the 1TB one is $700, where do I click to order?

Keep in mind that the larger the capacity the slower the data transfer. Also, I'd not be confident on having all that data on one USB stick, a lot of lost data if something goes wrong.

That is a "promotional price" and ends today (11 May). Who ever heard of OMG? I give Lazada high marks, but I would be cautious.

Not true. There are many factors that govern data transfer rate, but most specifically would be the specs of the USB stick itself. A USB stick with a USB3 connector that has a very slow R/W spec would never come close to USB 3 speeds. The weakest (slowest) link in the chain is always the bottleneck.

Then there are other factors such as the number of files and the size of each file.

Have a different experience.

Bought several things from them, no problems but one.

Sent email, had to send the thing back, two days later received a new one.

Only had to pay the postage for sending to Lazada.

You gotta be careful and make sure your not ordering something from outside the country. I've never had any problems, and have always been surprised at how quick the stuff arrives.

What everyone needs to understand is lazada is a marketplace and not a shop. Some things they sell themselves and control the full reliable service. Others are 3rd party sellers, some good, some bad, some local, some overseas, all clearly labeled, and lazada cannot be blamed directly for all 3rd party activities.

They control and manage as much as possible, but some beyond their control.

Overall, with own products and good name sellers, excellent service.

No name sellers, same as any street market. Expect what it is and avoid risk with great benefits.

I would put money on that the promotional price will also be available tomorrow. Lots of promotional "ends today" prices on Lazada that in reality goes on in perpetuity. Just a ploy to force you to make a quick decision for fear of losing out on the "special promotion".

Yes. I ordered at 46" Samsung TV from them. Considerable discount to the same unit priced at PowerBuy or Numchai. Was given a delivery window around 5 to 7 days out, but it arrived in about 48 hours from when the order was made. It's been working perfectly since then.

I bought something from Lazada that had a promotional price and the following day it was Baht 2000 more on Lazada. Both the promotional price and the higher price were well below those offered in retail shops.

- Interface: USB3.0

- Reading Speed: 15M/S

- Writing Speed: 6M/S

To me that's enough to know.

USB3 interface but laughably low transfer rates.

So my guess: it's not fake just creepingly slow.

~24h to fill this thing biggrin.png

For the price it's a very cheap investment that may be the diamond in the rough. This only goes to show you what the mark up profit is on USB drives. A 128gb model is shown on You tube just to show what it's real storage capacity is 125GB. Those go for 550B. Still cheap. Don't count on it lasting long.

Fake 100%. The flash controller reports 512GB (fake value), computer will show you 512GB capacity, but once you write to it more than 16/32GB (real capacity) - it will fail. Majority of people are filling their drives gradually, and by the time they reach 16/32GB limit, 7 days are long over.

And as I wrote above, the write speed is so slow that you would need about 24h steady writing and then about 10h of reading to do a single testrun (write until full, read data and compare).

Which credible manufacturer would create such a useless combination of size and speed?

Why USB3 interface when it only reaches USB2 speeds?

Fake or not, useless crap anyway!

Just click "Add to cart" thumbsup.gifbiggrin.png

The 1TB drive has been around for a while now (couple of years I think) but it's a bit chunky for normal usage from what I've heard.

I'll be sticking with smaller drives as I've found that if you use them in multiple devices every day then the connector in the drive can wear out, even on the high end top of the range devices.

Once the connector has problems it's essentially garbage as it becomes unreliable.

Edit: The drive referred to in the original post is almost certainly fake - don't buy it.
