Trump is as thick as two short planks. His supporters must be even thicker.

Quote

Donald Trump on Wednesday vividly described a video he said he had watched earlier in the day of Iranian officials unloading cash from an airplane, claiming the money was part of a payment by the U.S. to Iran to settle a decades-old dispute over an incomplete weapons sale. His campaign later confirmed that Trump was in fact referring to a months-old video filmed in Geneva that showed three of the Americans who had just been released from prison in Iran.

Russia used to have their privy council to get rid of mad Tzar's. They don't have the tradition anymore and Putin managed to get too much power, before it was too late. Hopefully there are folks who love the mother Russia enough to get rid of Putin.

I think it's not necessary to get rid of Crazy Don, as he is doing that by himself, but I also hope there is a backup plan just in case.

Sure. In normal elections with normal candidates.

I reckon you'd agree that trump is the most abnormal candidate for president in modern history.

So previous rules may not apply.

It's possible that it's really already over for trump.

Another factor is the media profit motive.

They bank on close races so they may try to gin up a fiction that trump could still pull it out just to keep people watching.

But people will always want to watch trump ... winner or loser, I reckon he's going to become even more "interesting" (more off the rails) as a LOSER.

It's already been 10 months.

And ya got nothin'.

Better sell those chickens.

They're infertile.

Of course it is possible. ANYTHING is possible in this election. It is also possible that between Islamic terrorism and Black Lives Matter, Trump will triumph in the end. I'm not too thrilled about that, but, IMO,  anything is better than a candidate carrying on with Barack Obamas warped agenda.

I understand the lesser of two evils thing in this election, but I will never understand thinking trump is the lesser of two evils between Hillary Clinton and trump.

I doubt Trump even knows how the federal court system is structured.    If someone asked him a question at a press conference about the hierarchy of the federal court system there's no way he could answer it.

Although there's no doubt that Trump could provide some insight on bankruptcy court.

What a disaster this Trump travesty has turned into.  He has no chance of winning and there's a good chance he's destroyed the party.  Congrats to all the Trump fanboys who have all but guaranteed that President Obama's policies will continue for at least another four years.  Imbeciles, the lot of you.

So, for the record, are you saying that you are supporting Trump now and in the future?

Americans that want these things might support trump for his court picks:

reversing marriage equality

restricting voting to minorities

keeping the poorly named "Citizens United"

making abortion illegal

no gun control

etc.

I'm probably not going to vote, but the Supreme Court picks dilema might cause me to change my mind.

You know what you don't see much of this year? Hillary Clinton bumper stickers. Obama/Biden stickers were so ubiquitous in 2008-2012 you'd have thought they were standard equipment on Subaru wagons.

Oh come on, it's a fun roller coaster ride, especially when your (my) gal is leading.   I only wish it was Bernie as the Dem contender.  Then Trump would really be having conniption fits.

It's almost funny:  whenever Trump was ahead in the polls, he would blast that boast repeatedly.  Now that he's behind, he doesn't mention polls.   ......and his staunch supporters now say polls are meaningless.

You can tell allot about a candidate by observing his supporters.

Here is my buddy, Martin on YouTube. He loves Trump. All the polls and media are rigged. Only the conspiracy nut contigent knows what's really going on.

Sadly Martin is consumed by right wing media and is about to have a stroke!

I think we all have lost friends or relatives to the right wing conspiracy media. Sad.

(And notice the baby Jesus manger scene he keeps setup in the background.)

If Trump is unfit, what should the Republican party do? Just shift support to another two members of their party running? Is that what the Dems would suggest?

It isn't a matter of what the Dems would suggest, it is a legal matter. The best situation would be for Trump to drop out of the race and the sooner the better for the Republicans as names have to be placed on state ballots months ahead of time. If Trump drops out the Republicans would have to determine the best way to replace him (voting?) and get a new name on the ballot. If Trump drops out later on, say in October, Republicans will still need to get a new candidate and then state that any vote for Trump would in fact be a vote for the new candidate.

Let's say Trump doesn't want to drop out which forces Republicans to find a way to deem him "unfit" as a presidential candidate. This is tricky situation. They would probably up against the legal definition of "mentally unfit" which is hard to determine in any case. This option would have to be a last resort and probably would case major disruptions in the republican party.

The Republicans are now facing a reality of Trump and hoping they can "mold" him to a more conforming party line candidate. This is their best bet. Hoping to change Trump and get him elected.

Trump in a slump

Not only is he sinking rapidly in the polls — he's losing by a larger margin than the past two Republican also-rans. (sub-title)

"Hillary Clinton’s surge in the polls over the past week has widened her path to victory in November and put Donald Trump in a deeper hole than recent losers Mitt Romney, John McCain or John Kerry faced at this phase of the campaign."

"Trump’s disastrous week — in which a series of controversial comments and inaccurate statements helped send the GOP presidential nominee spiraling downward in polls taken after the two national party conventions,

has put him significantly behind his Democratic opponent."

"He now trails by about 7 percentage points in the national averages calculated by RealClearPolitics and HuffPost Pollster, and has been forced to play defense in a number of reliably Republican states."

Here's some of Obama's 'warped agenda'...

>>>  lot's more people with access to health care

>>>  bringing Iran back from the brink of having nukes

>>>  Ok'ing the world's largest marine preserve (west of Hawaii)

>>>  Enacting policies to tangibly lessen fossil fuel pollution.

I would take that as a joke statement, but I've seen you're other posts, so it appears to be a serious statement from you.  Maybe you'd like Sarah Palin on the S.C.   ....or Ted Nugent or Gary Busey.

Donald Trump is his own biggest enemy.

He's also his own biggest fan club so when he goes down there will be a loud thump, which is another reason he may consider himself too big to fail, i.e., withdraw rather than be confronted with reality.

There may be a silver lining here.

The Bloviator's entire huckstering plan appears to be disintegrating.

Trump's campaign may be hurting traffic to Trump properties

"There has been a clear decline in foot traffic to Trump-branded golf courses, hotels and casinos in the U.S. since Trump entered the presidential race last June, according to data released Thursday from Foursquare."

"The data, based on the activity of Foursquare's 50 million monthly users, shows a growing falloff in visits starting in March as Trump emerged as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination."

"Foot traffic to Trump-branded properties was down 17% in March and April from the same period a year earlier. In July, foot traffic was down 14% year-over-year."

http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/04/technology/trump-campaign-business-foursquare/index.html?sr=cnnmoneybin080416trumpproperties

Prior, those properties were steady year after year...

Seems rational people are also voting with their wallet now that they have been exposed to the crass,

contemptible, bigoted Bloviator.

This is good news. Hit him where it hurts.

Of course, the faithful Lemmings can always go patronize his establishments, to help out.

Heck, even buy one of his books that was written by somebody else...

Here's someone else who read your headline...

“Donald Trump is Todd Akin. He is Richard Mourdock and Sharron Angle. But that is really not fair to Akin, Mourdock and Angle. They weren’t nuts. They had political views and others that made them unelectable. With Donald Trump, it is instability. He is an absurd candidate for president. He is a neutron bomb that has gone off in the Republican Party that is destroying anyone near him.”

— GOP strategist Stuart Stevens, quoted by the Huffington Post.

Speaking of whom...

Former Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), whose U.S. Senate bid was derailed for his “legitimate rape” comments, told Morning Consult that the uncompromising rhetoric of Donald Trump is “refreshing.”

Said Akin: “It’s because you’ve got an incredibly one-sided Democratic national media, and Republicans are scared to death of them. Look at my race. I got hammered, really, because I’m pro-life. That’s the bottom line of it.”

Maybe the Republican strategist Stuart Stevens might need to revise his generous qualifier of Mr. Akin.

Here anyway is another someone who read your headline.....

“In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.”

— Former CIA Director Michael Morell, writing in the New York Times.

So keep those headlines coming, in the clutch especially....

Indeed, it could seem even the admirers of Mr. Krauthammer have gone further off the deep end than any previous deep dive they'd done...

Charles Krauthammer: “Of course we all try to protect our own dignity and command respect. But Trump’s hypersensitivity and unedited, untempered Pavlovian responses are, shall we say, unusual in both ferocity and predictability.”

“This is beyond narcissism. I used to think Trump was an 11-year-old, an undeveloped schoolyard bully. I was off by about 10 years. His needs are more primitive, an infantile hunger for approval and praise, a craving that can never be satisfied. He lives in a cocoon of solipsism where the world outside himself has value — indeed exists — only insofar as it sustains and inflates him.

Krauthammer has much more to say at the link.
