One of the drawbacks of aging , but I need a place that they know what they are doing , I suffer from Chronic Ear infections and I am clogged on both sides TMI but appreciate recommendations . Banglamung Hosp/ did it 3 years and a few months ago but Doctor spent too much time on his computer , IMHO , then on patients concerns !

I had an ear infection a couple of years back and was treated at BPH. You can see the action on a TV monitor and it worked out just fine.

Yes, I have a bad taste in my Mouth from BPH because its same as Bkk Phuket Hospital ...a chain of Hospitals that really over-charge patients , as I witnessed happen to more then a few friends in Phuket.....they charge like everyone has Insurance and that gives them the right to gauge....I've even seen people get charged for things they never even received but I've seen that in more then a few Hospitals here in my 30 years in Thailand.

In Phuket International I paid 500B for cleaning but that was over 5 years back .

5000 THB ? There used to be a clinic on Pattaya Klang road that did it for 700 THB (unfortunately they moved, no idea to where), or you can have it done at Memorial for around 12-1500 THB. But as your insurance was paying 5000 THB is indeed cheap

Pattaya Memorial hospital. ENT doctor usually around after 1300hrs. Proper suction machine. I had ear infection/blockage last year. Had my ears cleaned plus medication for infection B1800

Well , I had no choice cause we got out late and had to use BKK Pattaya ENT Doctor Lady was only person in-service , and good job she did but did clean the mess up but made me flinch a few more x then I would have preferred , but figured 2 or 3000B  , took at least 45 minutes , TMI u dont need but the Bill was 1225B I was a bit shocked , but there is a lot more Competition here then Phuket , so maybe thats why ! So , quality wise , very happy ....only waiting to pay bill seemed to take longer , plus on way out needed to use Toilet and no Handicap access and bathrooms at Makro are cleaner and better access....but one Nurse said it was different at another bathroom area, but I can walk ,just not far or too long           so I safely got to take a wee wee pause , but bathrooms were not clean for a Hospital of that size , cause my wife mentioned how clean and new looking the entries and all other areas lookin' good. Oh well , not like I'm moving in ! least not as yet !

I think the clinic is still there but moved a few doors down. Only open early in the evening on 3 days, i think Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

I just had mine done at the Pattaya Memorial hospital. Very good service. I just walked in and had the clean within 30 minutes. Price was 2073 baht which is OK I suppose but  little high considering I was only with the doctor for 5 minutes. No medications.

Try checking out referrals from BPH. They're one of the best but much more expensive.
 

BHP is 3000 to remove wax , I thought that was a little high . It's a set rate [emoji765]

If by a machine you mean a large syringe with solution that is used to flush out the excess wax build up then yes.

 

I have never found "specialists" charging any more that just a regular doctor here but maybe your experience is different  

not sure if still operating

but my friend had his done on pat klang (see above) very cheap, maybe 600 baht,  and well done prior to his snorkeling/diving

I can confirm those hours and phone number are correct. Dr Apichai is only here  3  evenings a week. He works at Rayong Bangkok Hospital during the day.

No one picked up when I called. I went there Wed Aug 16 2017 at 5:45pm without an appointment, i was 6th in the line. If you go later you may have to wait up to an hour. 600B just to remove wax build up.

I use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% solution. It dissolves the wax. Available from Boots for about 15 Baht. You will need a small syringe to put the solution in the ear (keeping your head tilted).

For heavy wax build up you will actually see foam coming out of your ear. I've been doing this for years and have had no large build up of wax since. A good site on the internet is www.mayoclinic.org but there are others giving home remedies for earwax.

Good recommendation. I need to see a doctor to remove ear wax less often since I started using Hydrogen Peroxide.  It is  what they are using at the local barber shops to clean your ears but I won't let them do it for me.

Another vote for Doctor Apichai on pattaya klang. 600thb and he also speak good English

I paid 3000B+ the first time, at the evil hospital along Sukhumvit about 10 years ago when I just came to Pattaya.

Bangkok Pattaya international hospital on Sukhumvit. Good, efficient, modern equipment, caring, ...about 10 or 20 quid.

A small bottle of hydrogen peroxide costs 10baht you can do that yourself.

The Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya has an elaborate set up.  Two monitoring screens showing a camera live view from the vacuum type device that actually sucks out your wax from the ear canal.  Flushing it and picking it out is also effective but labor intensive and time consuming.

 

I've had ear wax build-up problems since I was a small child and will probably continue to have wax build-up issues for life.  Just squirting stuff down my ears just makes the problem increase.

I got a nasty infection in my ear as I was poking around with hydrogen peroxide trying to unblock the wax myself.

I ended up going to Pattaya Memorial as I stated earlier in the thread. The Doc cleared the wax blockage in a matter of seconds with the suction machine and also showed me on the camera that I’d made a bit of a mess poking around in there. B1800 including the meds for the infection that I’d caused.

I won’t ever mess with my ears again, not worth it.
