The Pattaya police chief has said that he knows the identity of the two men filmed groping and molesting a young woman at the resort.

Apichai Krobpetch admitted that the incident happened in Walking Street outside the Shalimar bar and restaurant.

The video posted online showed two men - one was fondling the unconscious woman's genitals while the other was kissing her on the mouth repeatedly.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest after CCTV showed clear images.

Earlier a 10,000 baht reward had been posted by the Tourist Police for information leading to an arrest.

The cops are determined to clear up he case that has damaged the image of Pattaya, reported Siamchon News.

The woman in the video was known to have been with friends who worked at an entertainment venue on the Walking Street strip.

Apichai said yesterday afternoon that the two men would face serious charges relating to sexual assault.

The person who posted the clip and the one who shot the video footage would also be prosecuted under the Computer Crimes Act, he added.

The incident happened around midnight on Wednesday night, Thursday morning.

Last report Police said were not doing anything because no complaint made.

Now the usual "u-turn".

Why would the video=ographer get arrested ? He brought the case into the public domain.

The "Computer Crimes Act"  covers everything, Is "crushing" democracy.

The perps are likely grateful for the heads up by the RTP (once again) so they can disappear. Why do the police always announce, "We know who you are, we are coming to get you! Just as soon as we apply for an arrest warrant and it is approved. We hope to have it in hand in about 2 weeks at which time we will go to your house and arrest you. If you are not home, then we will just ask you to turn yourself in. Up to you."

Yesterday's news had the local police 'station chief' saying that it possibly wasn't even in Pattaya and wouldn't lift a finger unless the girl in the video filed a complaint.

Has she?

Probably not out of embarrassment on being identified in public.
However social media has once again prompted Thailands finest into taking some action !

Long may it continue.

And because of the same image of Pattaya the police chief didn't want to believe that it was in Pattaya until the woman would file a complaint.

How many other crimes are treated in the same way........all for the image of Pattaya.

Once there will be no more complaints, because that will damage the sleezy and seedy image of Pattaya.

OMG. The control freeks are at it again - shoot the messenger!

Idiots! Deal with the crime not those who exposed it.

The 'world' did not need to see a crime on the internet. He should have taken the video to the police. So, yes, he did wrong. Prosecution? Maybe just a fine and slap on the wrist (hopefully).

Maybe he knew he likely to get arrested by taking the video to the Police?
