Why couldn't the man who wrote (or took credit for writing) "The Art of the Deal" cut a deal to prevent a government shutdown on the one year anniversary of taking office?

That's a simple enough question to answer.

Because he's dealing with the gross stupidity of the malicious left.

Thanks - keep on solely blaming the 'left', it's an excellent example of the Trump Administration idiocracy. Trump is his own worst enemy.

I disagree.  He had more flies around him pre-election, but even they have mainly deserted him by now.

Author of Fire and Fury book suggests trump is cheating on Melania NOW.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/01/author-of-fire-and-fury-michael-wolff-suggests-trump-is-having-an-extramarital-affair-now.html?via=recirc_recent

It's very well documented he has been adulterous before in his current (Stormy Daniels) and previous marriages, but this is about now while he is president.

Do I care? Nope.

But it's more irony that he holds on to his bible thumping base when he behaves this way.

No. Not like Trump's mother in attitude nor looks like Ivanka.

Donald Trump told porn star Stormy Daniels she ‘reminded him of his daughter Ivanka’ after their alleged affair. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5372825/donald-trump-porn-star-reminded-him-of-daughter-ivanka/

Is there an Ivanka look-alike in the West Wing?

Imagine someone like Hope Hicks with a blond wig.

I'm sure your suggestion is every bit as credible as Mr. Wolff's.

When there was a government shutdown during the Obama administration, when the Republicans controlled the House, Trump place blame squarely on Obama's lack of leadership.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wRUPq7ZiwE

Trump was more concerned with his one year anniversary party in Mar a Lago than getting a deal through. Is that your idea of leadership?

Perhaps, he is, and he will be for another 7 years!!  That's if he wants another 4 years, and he'll be mid 70's by then, so maybe not.

Impeached!  For what?
...

Potential charges may include --

Financial corruption

Emoluments clause

Money laundering (Russian oligarchs)

Obstruction of Justice

Treasonous Collusion

Wait and see.

Even if a clear case can be made, it wouldn't make any political sense to pursue unless the democrats can swing both houses of congress this year.

Much as though I would like #45 to be impeached, I now don't think it's going to happen  -- at least not while Republicans control both houses. The zenith of white man's justice, I suppose you could say -- if you're rich and powerful enough you can do what you like.

Impeached!  For what?  Being a good president.  Of course following the chithead Obama, almost anyone would look good.  Obama spent $10 trillion of our money for what?  He made a lot of his friends rich, which now out of office they will make him very rich.  All the chithead had to do was say a few words and smile and the Democrats loved him.  He is so full of shit when he sneezes his handkerchief turns brown.  What experience did the chithead have, oh, that's right he was a community organizer in a suburb of Chicago.   He is a communist because he maintained communist friends before and after his election.  His pastor, Jeremiah Wright who Obama thought very highly of is the one who said; "No, no, no, not God bless America but God damn America."   All I have to say is he is out the office and good riddance.   They didn't impeach the chithead, how could they impeach Trump.

Obama pulled the economy out of an economic freefall and reduced Bush's final $1.3 trillion deficit to about one third that.  Both these problems were caused by Bush's unfunded tax cuts, reckless foreign policy, and failure to properly regulate Wall Street.  Trump is repeating the same mistakes.

None of that has been proven it was all fabricated by the media because they wanted Hillary to win.  Boo, who.  You've been watching too much fake news.  You drank the kool-aid alright I'd say a touch too much.

The list of events that verify potential obstruction of justice, collusion with Russia and conflicts of interest is too long to post.  Just look into why former members of Trump's election campaign and administration have been indicted.  Also look at the bills the US taxpayers are paying for Trump's frequent visits to overpriced Trump properties.

Mmm...you’re half way there. The “sarcasm” part needs work.

Thanks for the advice. I am a bit disappointed with being only halfway there with you. I will work on my sarcasm and hopefully reach second base with you at a later date....:giggle:

By the way, how's the impeachement process going?

Insulting other people is all you got? :stoner:

You guys don't like having it thrown back at you.   how about one of your numbers who says, frequently, "Ya got nothin'", "Is that all ya got"?  You lefties are masters at name calling, abusing, and when that doesn't get what you want, riot in the streets.   Give it a break.   There are people with contrary, and valid, opinions.

Yet we see no contrary opinions based upon rational analysis of verifiable facts.

For example, every time I point out that Trump generates more fake news than all MSM combined, and support this assertion with examples, the "fake news" posters temporarily retreat, only to resurface later and repeat the same nonsense

"and conflicts of interest is too long to post."

Yes, the verifiable 'facts'........does that come under "and conflicts of interest is too long to post"???    giggle...giggle.

I guess those are the 'verifiable facts', even if they are too long to post???

How about changing? Rather than constant sneering and so on, provide verifiable argument to back up your claims. Yes, verifiable claims from forum acceptable sources as your opposition does, would make a very pleasant change, no more deflections - thanks...

"Trump is not only making money in spite of his official position, in many cases, he’s making money because of it,” said Bookbinder. “This is the least ethical first year of any presidential administration in modern history.”

I foolishly assumed this was common knowledge.  I neglected to consider the willfully ignorant.

" Membership applications at Mar-a-Lago surged after Trump was elected, leading the club to double its initiation fee to $200,000 this year. As president, Trump no longer runs his real estate and hotel business, but he continues to own Mar-a-Lago and his other properties."     https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/ticket-prices-go-up-for-trumps-very-glam-new-years-eve-bash-at-mar-a-lago/2017/12/30/a6f6fb08-ecbf-11e7-9f92-10a2203f6c8d_story.html?utm_term=.120c73450e21

" Trump’s 2017 travel costs topped $6 million for Mar-a-Lago alone, according to a Wall Street Journal tally. That included just airfare, not the cost of protection from the Secret Service, which received congressional approval to raise its cap on overtime and salaries after the first family’s travel schedule drained the agency’s budget early. "    https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/new-secret-service-costs-for-trump-at-mar-a-lago-revealed/ar-AAuQxzZ

"Since Donald Trump took office last January, we tracked where he spent each of his first 52 weekends in office.

On at least 38 weekends, he visited at least one his properties."    http://www.wtsp.com/news/nation-world/president-trump-tracking-weekend-visits-properties-first-year/509403896

It isn't easy to find out how much the Secret Service pays to stay at Trump properties, but it isn't cheap and Trump doesn't let them stay for free.
