Civil Court orders 43 million baht of Nen Kham assets be turned over to the state

BANGKOK, 21 July 2017 (NNT) – The Civil Court has ordered the seizure of assets from defrocked monk Nen Kham and 8 others totaling 43 million baht to the state, deeming the gains ill-gotten.

The Civil Court has ruled that the assets of Wiraphol Sukphol, the former monk widely known as Nen Kham, and 8 others, including a Porsche automobile worth 8 million baht and real estate in Ubon Ratchathani must be turned over to the state. A total 27 items were listed with a cumulative value of 43 million baht.

The court ruled that Wiraphol and the others, all monks, could not account for the origins of their wealth and likely used funds from defrauding the public for their purchases.

Wiraphol is currently being detained at Bangkok’s Central Prison after not requesting release on bond. He is pending trial for criminal offenses to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Cannot account for the origins of their wealth.

Well the same can be said about most of the monks here.

Scammers the lot of them.

Don't worry he can afford the "fine" and will probably pay more with a smile.

Wonder how much finally goes to the state after individual "administration and collection fees" are extracted.

...duhhh....

...what about the Private Jet......

...and the alleged Hundreds of Millions of Dollars he was transporting....???

...just asking....

wonder if it will really happen. remember they tried to take ying lucks assets but they could not find them despite her listing them when she ran for politics.

Karl Marx - 'Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world and the soul of soulless conditions.  It is the opium of the people'.

dunno what all the fuss about!

43 million baht worth of good luck would have been bestowed upon the followers for their donations

...so it's all Even-Stevens

43 million more to buy toys for the present regime.

Thai forensic accounting; good in some areas but not all.

How did they work this out, particularly without records?

I hope his loss of face as shown this jerk how he can be treated for being a jerk.

  Geezer

The Monks have learned from their fellow politicians and Government officials. They were good students.
