Back from my ban! :ninja:

Had a set of heavier Koni springs for years for my Guzzi that i have wanted to fit.

Every trip back to Blighty i forget to buy some spring compressors, so i had to make some arrangement.

Mk I;

copy what i've seen in the catalogues and on Ebay.

What a waste of a day.

No workomondo.

Went back to my original idea.

If i have a 15 ton hydraulic press, why not make use of it?

Modded up some steel plate and a mig bottle top, and with a bit of bodgy-dodgy Heath Robinson (and the help of another pair of 13 y/o son's hands), swapped over some motorcycle springs.

Wants a mod or two to become a one man job, and then will be a proper pro set up.

Good to see great Thai style improvisation ???? I like getting over problems without the use of special tools.

I'm just back too. :coffee1:

Ja, marine.

Another one in the far corner out of view.

To the left in the photo, a small collection of nice m/c biggies, V8 nitro drag car, HD S&S, Matchless or AJS 7R/G50 racing piston from Wiseco with a ridiculous CR etc etc, the mashed rod is out of a Lotus Cosworth racing car engine.

ty250 mono motors; 3 spare.

Ta.

I took my front tire out, drove to Ubon and got the tire balanced.

It's a shame that we don't even have a shop that does such an easy task.

Just came back from a test ride and bike goes very straight, no vibration, but I had to stop at 165 kmh/ when a dog crossed the road and I saw two others waiting.

Life's too short to die on a bike. But who knows when our time has come?

I love the joke where a millionaire had won 40 million baht, then quit his job and started travelling. He sat under a coconut tree where he's planning his next steps but he didn't hear the fruit falling....................

Any small bike shop near you could balance em if knew how, you can do it with the wheel still on the bike, it's just a matter of grabbing some stick on rim weights when your passing a tyre fitting shop.

Should the area around the exhaust port be that oily?

Also looks like a nut is missing off that ex stud?

No I don't think it should be so oily, I think someone turned up the autolube pump to maximum so its producing tons of "sploodge" + the exhaust gasket not sealing properly, the nut I removed before thinking to take a photo.
About 1/4 liter of oil come out the exhast pipe/baffle.

I used caustic soda (soda fai) bung up one end pour loads of crystals in then some hot water whist at arms length, let soak overnight next morning flush with plenty of clean water from the hose pipe...seems to work ok.

"Been watching a few YT vid reviews on new bikes.

TFT screens, TC (traction control), riding modes, switchable ABS, scrolling menus, yada nada da bing.

What The F##k?

In the photo below you can see the complicated switch gear on the R/H h/bar side.

Its called a twist grip.

Or throttle in proper vocab.

In the middle is my latest TFT screen version showing precisely RPM and oil pressure.

On the left we have a legal recquirement horn button, a hi-lo headlight (lights permanently on - no battery) switch and the bright red here-i-am kill switch.

Just out of view between the switchgear and grip is the scrolling function for rider modes and TC. Hitting the horn button twice enables 3 Rider modes; nutter sport-boring touring-gay rain.

Likewise hitting the horn button 3 times in quick succession either the horn bleeps weekly (no battery) 3 times or TC is enabled, hard man off, weak boy 1, or girlie 2.

The thumb start is in an unusual position, a lever on the right hand side that pivots near your ankle.

In the pathetic old days they hilariously called this contraption a kick start. 555"

Yep I'm wondering how a Luddite like myself will go with the New Triumph Speedmaster.'Ride by wire ""Rain mode" "Water cooled"[ i understand that] "ABS""EFI"[I already know about those from the VulcanS Haha]  etc..etc.

Ok next job for tomorrow this front end slight movement on steering assembly and a noticeable notch in the straight position.

Dam torque drive bit needed to get key ignition assembly off so off to tool shop again tomorrow.
