A 21 year old Samut Prakarn woman has been charged with murder by police after she admitted pushing her two year old son into a canal in Bang Bua Thong yesterday.

Bang Bua Thong police were called when little "James" was found floating in the Ton Nun Klong. He had been dead about three hours.

CCTV was studied in two spots in the area where firstly a woman dressed in an orange top has been seen leading the child. Later CCTV in another location showed the same woman walking alone.

Police made inquiries and found the woman who had since changed clothes waiting to catch a bus home.

She was 21 year old "Porn". All names were assumed to protect identities.

Police interviewed Porn and discovered that she is a finance company employee from Samut Prakarn. She had split up with the boy's father a long time ago.

She had paid her mother to look after the boy but there had been problems and she had often had to take him to work with her.

In the end family stress drove her to take the boy, aged just 2 years and two months to the klong and push him in, reported Thai Rath. She had been to the area and taken the boy on a motorcycle taxi to near the scene of the crime.

After that she had gone and changed her clothes at a friend's house. She was about to take a bus back home when she was arrested.

She has been charged with murder with intent.

So much for the Thai's constantly proclaiming what a caring society they have.   Just another victim of a Father running away from his responsibility and a Girl too young to know how to cope.

RIP young one, hopefully you are in a much more loving place.

This is nothing to do with "Thai society", it is about one individual's actions.  You do not know if the father "ran away from his responsibilities".

That picture is heartbreaking, the little lad walking along trusting the person he should be able to trust 100%, leading him to his death.

Yes, you can say that again. As a parent myself, it is unimaginable that one could hurt his own child.
Shows again that life means absolutely nothing for some people.
I hope she will suffer a painful death.

Just seen this on the television, very sad to see the cctv of her leading him to his death.
But more disturbing was that they showed the little lad in the klong as a photographer took close up photos !!
I understand that this needs to be done but not, IMHO, necessary to show this on television, a very disturbing image.

RIP little man.

Well we don't know what the circumstances were.  It is heartbreakingly tragic and hard to comprehend so I won't speculate.

I agree with the comments A Life for A Life But this never seams to be the case.

If you take a Life then yours should be forfeited also don't care who you are

According to my wife, the mother admitted to the cops that she pushed her son into the canal because she didn't want to take care of him anymore.  That's brutally chilling.  My wife also mention that she will probably not have a pleasant time in jail.  She mentioned that prisoners in jails don't take kindly to individuals who have killed their parents or children.  So, even if given a life sentence, it may be a relatively short stay.
