BANGKOK — Police on Tuesday night searched brothels in a drug raid and came back empty-handed.

 

Metropolitan police raided five massage parlors – a euphemism for commercial sex venues – in Huai Khwang area to look for drugs and found none, while turning a blind eye to other possible legal violations.

When is a violation legal ? Thats a new one for me.

Some of these places are actually quite good. Better value than the Sukhumvit strip. 

No one arrested, no one in trouble, so the massage girls all enjoyed happy endings I guess.

Am I correct that the RTP can search and drug test all the patrons of a business without  probable cause or a warrant?  I also assume that it is the same for individuals.  If so, that is a police state by definition.

no the bib are there to show what can happen to the buisness if they don't give the proper brown envelope to the station.

The police fall under the authority of the NCPO (aka 'junta') that has absolute power including warrantless search and arrest.
