O ring - where to buy

Featured Replies

Looking for a replacement O ring for the fuel tap on a Honda lawn mower that started leaking fuel. Mower was originally brought in from overseas years ago.

It's 12mm internal diameter, 2mm thick.

Anyone know anywhere that has a good selection of O rings in Bangkok or Pattaya ?

Thanks.

If you look up the parts list for your Honda engine, then see if that part number is available from a Honda dealer in Thailand. You could also bring the machine to a Honda authorized service center near you to see if they keep that O ring in stock.

Thanks but should have added that Honda don't sell the o ring separately, only the full tap unit, which I'll have to buy if I can't get an o ring anywhere that fixes the leak.

Probably best to order one online...but I did recently see in the Hardware house at Na-Jomtien a small selection of o rings + a whole box set of assorted o rings for about 800 baht...some of the other hardware shops that sell powered garden equipment may also carry some stock.

My first choice would be the auto parts store in Nakluea. https://goo.gl/maps/nqwXvX1VqTH2

Take your sample etc.

Or In Bangkok. Soi Pridi (sukhumvit 71) just before Klong Dan opposite the Esso? gas station. There are two or three auto/hardware stores.

If you're north of BKK Rangsit market has a number of farm spares shops for that sort of thing, you may have to buy two. I've never been let down for the mysterious rubber bits.

Fitflex hose is a franchise (I think) and they’re great for hydraulic hoses, fittings O-rings and whatnot. Google for a location...

Any hydraulic Repair Shop....and if you cant get one without ordering...wrap thread tape around it a couple of times to make it seal again. That will keep you going until you get one....

We have a three-phase hot-water Karcher pressure-washer. It used to go through o-rings often and the hose only lasted a couple years. The supplier quoted something like 20,000 do a 10m hose.

From Fitflex, I got a 30m hose, larger diameter for about half the money and it’s lasted 8 years and and still going strong...

You'd be surprised at the stock of o-rings that many of the little hardware stores have. Bring yours, usually they will mic it & sell you the exact same thing. Let them know it's for gas/benzene, some o-ring material can expand/crack from exposure to benzene.

I'd be more specific on shops but not my stomping grounds any longer.

I had a quick look on Lazada to see if they had a "DIY" O ring kit, the ones where you get all the ingredients to make your own - they work well, as long as you avoid sticking your fingers together with the super glue!

They don't have, but they do have a surprising number of assorted O ring kits for cheap prices.

They are generally much better for bigger rings than small.
If all else fails ask the first ladyboy you see!
In Pattaya there is a (string of) massage shops called "O ring massage" [emoji38]

A neighbor bought one of those kits and happy with it.  It had 2 or 3 that he needed.

What amazes me, is how no mater how big a set you have:

1. You don’t have the one you need.
2. You are out of the one you need.

Buy any 2mm O ring, cut it slightly less than 12mm, superglue the ends together.

Do make sure the ends are in line when gluing.

Do make sure you do not glue your self to the O ring.
