Spain gone. Roberto Martinez being linked with the manager job. Probably depends how things go for Belgium.

Loving the drama.

The dreaded penalties are back !!
Hopefully England doesn’t have to rely on penalties, we all know our success rate on those !!
Gareth would be hiding behind the bench if it happened [emoji51]

but if they've beaten brazil they are surely quite good?

If they don't beat Brasil I'll eat my sombrero, or I would do if I had a sombrero.

No Dani Alves and apparently Marcelo is struggling to be fit. Good news for Mexico. Hard to know what to expect from Mexico. They were great against Germany and stunk it up against Sweden.

Would love for Mexico to see off Brazil but unfortunately my prediction is that they fear Neymar too much and will bring him down unnecessarily causing a penalty or free kick in a dangerous position and the rest is history !!

( of course Neymar will help with some of his famous theatrical diving !!.........allegedly )

One of the best parts about this World Cup is the achievement by the host country, the public services, infrastructure and stadiums have all been a triumph thus far.
All the B/S from Western media dispelled and people's brief encounters of Russians on holiday are not an accurate stereotype of a nation.
It's a great country to visit and the people in Russia are friendly and welcoming and love to party as is now being accurately portrayed by the people visiting and enjoying the World Cup.
Can imagine the amount of fun young foreign lads will be having there right now [emoji6]
As a gay man whose grandparents fled Ukraine under Russian rule, I think I'll pass. But I agree it's a propaganda win for dictator Putin.

I think the cities have been spruced up a lot, but a BBC piece about Grozny; where Egypt based themselves and Mo Salah was paraded around; caught a glimpse of life outside the cities. Transport was horse and cart in the rural communities and poverty seemed widespread.

The whole country is a completely different place in Winter.

I have family that are Ukrainian Russians, forced to leave there land and move to Siberia etc etc etc.

i really don’t know what you being gay or your fleeing Ukrainian grandparents has to do with the everyday people of Russia who have worked like every other person in the world in their jobs to make the World Cup a success and the millions of Russian people working in shops,  bars and hotels and socialising with visitors has to do with it either.

You don't huh? :coffee1:

Look, the Russians do their own propaganda well enough without you helping.

No I don’t, as there is no correlation. And where are you from, May I ask?

I don’t follow mainstream media no...still didn’t answer any of my questions though did you.

Shall we just leave it to football or shall delve in to horrific atrocities being supported and continually carried out by wonderful Western governments in the name of freedom...

Why do you think Putin wanted it (and got it corruptly) in the first place? Because he's a football fan? (He isn't.)

Again <deleted> has that got to with my comments. You have totally misconstrued my comments to suit your own agenda.

Comments that has nothing to do with football or this thread.

So why don’t you take it to somewhere where you will enjoy a political debate with someone who gives a <deleted>.
