FINE for no helmet

Featured Replies

Is there a fixed penalty for no helmet, got to go to Pattaya cop shop to retrieve licence, or do they make it up yep my fault, its these dam Thai women who think me Thai not wear helmet, so now I git to pay the fine for my passenger

Not sure on the fine, but I think its less than 1000 baht.

In future... No helmet, no passenger - it really only needs to be that simple.

I have the same policy in my car... No seatbelt, get out and walk or do your seatbelt up.

The simple reason is a selfish one: In the event of an accident I don't want to be responsible for the injuries of someone else which would otherwise could be avoided when wearing a helmet or seatbelt.

the driver is responsible for passenger wearing helmet,

i got caught on that shit too once.

i would feel better about myself today if i had belted the gal in question back then

There are other good reasons too ...

This UK public information ad still sends shudders up and down my spine.

400 Baht.

There is a tariff sheet on the wall at soi9 police station.

Doh...I give up....what is the last part of that "well known phrase or saying"?

I think the MAX fine is 1000bht but never heard anyone paying that. There was a Gov message a couple of years back stating that figure to try and reduce the road death toll.

I believe no seat belt went up to 1000bht too..

Daughter of my wife just received a fine by mail, photo was taken last week, fine 400 baht.

I would have thought that a 400 (or 1000) baht fine was a lot for thais to pay, like a day's pay. But you still see at least 25% of thais riding without one, and much more outside of major towns.

Not more than 500 Baht

People using motorbikes for work often pay 200 Baht only.

If Thais know how to handle the cops they get away without paying or paying 100 or 200THB.

Not if they're on the photo, which happens more and more.

Only if they have a license plate and care about paying tax for their vehicle

In which case it still has nothing to do with your claim 'how to handle the cops'.
