That's right; everybody likes him, I recon that's why he got all those TV programs running. Saw a program where him and David Coulthard was racing, Couldhardt in a F1 car.

Man that Merlin engine is something, a master piece from RR and a great contribution winning WW2.

I think that engine was also used in the Mosquito wooden airplane that was fast, really fast; 400mpr (640 km/h)

Indeed they were .. The Mosquito was probably the first multi role warplane , capable of doing everything from U boat hunting right through to aerial photo reconnaissance .. and it excelled in that role because it was that fast ..

The Merlin engine went into numerous planes of WW2 including the Lancaster bomber along with torpedo boats and into the 50's was installed in some heavy British tanks ..

Some have even put them in cars like the Bentley reproduction below .. though at near £500,000 that is for the well heeled only ..

Cool video and great commentary by Graham Walker, who was a lightweight TT winner in 1931 (and father of F1 commentator Murray Walker).

John McGuiness on the V4 Norton ready for the call in yesterday's Superbike race sadly shortened due to Daley Mathison's loss on lap 3 ..

The Norton isn't on the pace of the Kawasaki's and BMW's but to my ears is the best sounding of them with a growl that transforms to a ripping the air wail ..

A very good documentary on the TT which was shown on Al Jazeera a few years ago.  It concentrates more on the human side - particularly, what the family members of the riders go through during the races, as well as what motivates the riders to do it, knowing that, on average, at least one of them won't be returning:
