Incandescent light bulbs - where to buy these days?

Featured Replies

The shops I go in only seem to have LED light bulbs these days. Where can I buy the old incandescent type now? In our place we still have those older dimmer switches on the walls in bed rooms where only the older bulbs work. What's the modern day equivalent?

Tesco, Big C, Homepro etc etc all still sell incandescant bulbs, but only low wattage. You can get dimmable LEDs though.

Light switches are about 30bht from HomePro, easy enough to change.

Do you really need the dimmers?

Forgot about Lazada (thanks @Lopburi!), I just bought 5 incandescent bulbs on Lazada for 45THB plus delivery.  Will give that a try first. My BigC only has LED now, bought a dimmable LED there yesterday but that didn't work either, behaved almost like a cheaper non dimmable LED.

I may change the dimmer switches to light switches and the dimmers just cause the LED bulbs to fail completely. Maybe get a dimming led table light that seem quite popular these days - but has been simple having the dimmer switches on wall until now?

You could get some Wifi dimmers  and control the lights from your armchair.

I see Panasonic Incandescent lamps with standard E27 base sold in Buriram. They certainly seem to have more  LED lights, solar garden lighting and even Milwaukee 18 volt 4.0 lighting products than the Incandescent lamps. There are several types of LED dimmable lights. Not all work the same. There are special Panasonic LED Dimmable wall switches that are superior to previous dimmer switches sold in Thailand.

The Panasonic incandescent light bulbs sell for 18 baht or 20 baht in Buriram.
