Would an old inner tube be suitable as gasket material?

  • Unlikely in Thailand, you could try your local pump supplier/repair man, or an engineering type work shop, it's probably a standard size 2 bolt flange and would be surprised if it wasn't available  -

I was in Mr DIY today, they have a couple of silicone products for gasket replacements,  didn't think to take a photo but ideal for your gasket replacement. 

Find yourself an old Wellington boot. Great gasket material.

Bought 3 today from the place near Bkk/Pattaya hospital, 50 baht each, I bought 3 just in case I ruin one.

And I thought I was ripped off at 35 thb each. TBH if you can <deleted>> up one of those rubber gaskets should you really be let loose with a spanner ....????
