Nostalgia is pish nowadays.

Back in the day we were all up for it - export markets,, the modern world, turning Japanese, modern romance.  What have we got now? Brexit. 

So back in the day somebody recklessly let me loose on the turntables at the student union, and it's early doors, before happy hour has started, so I let rip with a bit of Mantovanni, some Henry Mancini,  and a young lady came to the desk

"Have ye come to complain?"

"No, this is great, but do you have any Motorheid?"

And I gave her that gallic shrug as if to say its already queued up, dear, but there's no smiley for it.

I think it was actually the B-side I had lined up, which was a bit more boppy,

Nobody else ever had people dancing on the 8 - 9 slot.

 

Back in the day, when I was younger than I am now, I saw these boys on successive nights

Lemme go home

and on the first night my ears were a bit sore.  On the second night, numb.
