The head of Thailand's Kaeng Krachan national park in Petchaburi said that rangers were called to a tourist area after two elephants were holding up the traffic.

The elephants - one known to rangers as "Jao Bunmee" - were squaring off at kilometer 21 on the Phusai to Sai-en road leading to the popular tourist attraction of Pala-u waterfall.

Park chief Mana Phermphoon said that still photography and a video clip of the incident was rarely seen evidence of an annual territorial dispute among wild elephants.

Thai elephants know how to fight fair and square. Same can't be said to humans ????

Probably the road is the elephant demarcation line. One on one side , one on the other.

All that is needed is for a well meaning citizen to come between them and put a stop to it

i have been on this road many times. a elephant came out of the jungle and started chasing me when I slowed down to look at it. I was on my motorcycle. The elephant would not give up. Followed me for 300 meters.

I've heard lots of reports about elephants chasing people on motorbikes.

Nobody knows how the pachyderms learned to ride.

Why don't these big fellas have tusks.?

Elephants know.

Looks much more like two elephants playing especially the last few seconds where they disappear together off the road, one following the other holding it's tail.

Would you like me to pull your tail "playfully"?

Why would you want to do that, did I say anything about tails being pulled?
