Video: Five meter King Cobra drops in for a bite to eat at southern Thai restaurant!

A video on YouTube from Thai Rath showed the snake catchers from the Krabi Phitak Pracha foundation get to grips with a five meter long King Cobra.

The snake had scared patrons at the Ban Suan Khao Khram restaurant who were all waiting outside when the foundation team arrived.

It took only 20 minutes for the experts to bag the beast who had taken up temporary residence in the kitchen.

It was reckoned to be about a 15 year old specimen.

It was returned to nature after capture.

The snake was taken into the jungle, but was it brought out again to be that nights menu ?

wow real big bad ass snake. Dont know what it ate, as it was very gentle.

A big, big fella. Very glad not to stumble into that in the middle of the night stumbling home after a few wobbly pops.

Thais are lucky that there are rescue services like this instead of just killing the snake like I would have done.

And what if it's late at night and the rescue chaps are asleep ?...Sorry, but I would also rather have it killed rather then hissing around my bed...:sorry:

Staple diet is other snakes.

So "returned to nature" means stepping out in back of the restaurant a few meters? That's what it looked like. I would have thought they would drive it to a remote location.

Don't forget my shoes + maybe some handbags for the gf's if there's enough left over... ????

make a nice pair of boots.

Beautiful, glad to see he wasn't served up on a plate.  We need these guys in the wild.

The snake catchers also come around to your house in Bangkok to remove large snakes which still happens from time to time.

Good service.
